Whats the deal with jumpseating on FEDEX?? can do??? i work for a 121 regional with cass, if so does anyone know of the number to list, i found the schedule of their flights on th fedex mec website. but haven't found a way to list for the flights.

I just tried calling the number that I had for them, but got a, "The person at this extension is not available, please leave a message..." Not sure if they changed the number or not, but the number that I have is 866-357-5711.

Not necessarily... all CASS airlines need specific Fedex approval- so just being CASS doesn't mean you are in. Bold carriers can ride on Fedex- see notes below.

ABX Air (GB) Air Wisconsin (ZW)@ Alaska Air (AS)@ Allegiant Air (G4) Aloha (AQ) America West (HP)@ American (AA) American Eagle (AA) ASTAR Air Cargo (ER) ATA Airlines (TZ)# Atlas (5Y) Comair (OH)* Continental (CO) Delta (DL)@ Executive (AA) - American Eagle SJU Operation Express Jet/Continental Express (XE)* FedEx (FX) Frontier (F9) Hawaiian (HA) Horizon Air (QX)@ JetBlue (B6) Kitty Hawk (KR)# Mesaba (XJ) Midwest (YX) Northwest (NW) Piedmont Airlines (US)@ Pinnacle (9E) Polar Air Cargo (PO) PSA Airlines (US)@ Skyway Airlines/Midwest Connect (YX)# SkyWest (OO) Southwest (WN) Spirit Airlines (NK)* United (UA) UPS Airlines (5X) US Airways (US)@ USA Jet Airlines (JUS)# Xtra Airways (XP)#

BOLD - Full CASS jumpseat access and full reciprocation at FedEx
@ - Non-Digital Photo compliant; must be compliant by September 2006; you must ride in cabin
# - Company has been advised; full CASS capability is pending
* - FDX ALPA has not been notified by this carrier though they are CASS compliant

So why the hell does FedEx consider SJU international, but UPS doesn't? Stupidest thing I've ever heard. UPS, here I come. Thanks for the letdown again FDX.

I'm with one of the non-bold face carriers on the list, and I rode the jumpseat a month and a half ago. 866-357-5711 worked for me then. If you're a first time rider, you'll have to answer a lot of questions as they build a file on you.

Overall, it was a very pleasant experience. The inbound crew led me to the jumpseat lounge in Memphis. The outbound crew, let me share their hotel van, and didn't mind when he took a mile detour to drop me off at my car.

Look at the date it was posted, a few things have changed. I'm also on the non-bold but was able to list.

Maybe UPS hasn't figured out that when you fly great distances over open water to a country where everyone speaks spanish you aren't in the United States anymore. More likely though, UPS classifies it as domestic so they don't have to pay their crews international override and per diem. Your welcome!

Riiiight. There's a reason why my girlfriend is a US citizen (and she was born on that island). Thanks for nothing.

And people that were born in American Samoa, Guam, and the Northern Mariana Islands are all US citizens too. Are you telling me those aren't international destinations? Puerto Rico is a US territory with commonwealth status. It's native born residents are US citizens but they cannot vote in presidential elections. Doesn't sound very "domestic" to me. And once again...you are welcome.

Do you need a passport to go to Guam? If you do, then it's comparing apples to oranges. You DO NOT need one to get into PR. And even if you don't need one for Guam, then you're way off base anyway. And your ignorance is showing. Puerto Ricans CAN vote in Presidential elections if they happen to have an address in the States. And once again, thanks for nothing. Next time maybe you'll see the forest for the trees.

If I may be so bold as to return to the original topic...

I work for a 135 operator that has recently implements CASS (photo included). Any recommendationd for how to get an agreement process started?

Not if you are a US citizen. I guess that makes it apples to apples.

Wow! US citizens that actually have a residence in the US can vote for president. Who woulda' thunk! My neighbor from Kenya is a US citizen and votes for president too. Maybe that makes Kenya a domestic trip. You were the one that got all hormonal because you couldn't understand why FedEx considered SJU an international destination and I explained; if you can't figure it out, I would suggest you are the one showing his ignorance.
