Anyone get the news, good or bad, from FedEx first week of Feb interviews?

A buddy of mine who interviewed at the end of Jan (I think the 25th-ish) just got the good news yesterday....via FedEx letter. So don't freak out and stone the FedEx guy to death in your driveway. Good news is evidently coming the same way. Good luck to everyone.

I interviewed 17-18 Jan, still waiting to hear. Out of our 6 in the group 2 had phone calls, 2 had good letters, and 2(including myself) are still in limbo...arrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhhh!

Do you think you're still waiting because your company still hasn't forked over your records? Obviously it would be pure speculation on your part, but is the other guy that's waiting also currently employed with an airline?

Does anyone know how quickly one could expect the bad news if that should be forthcoming? I've always heard that if you don't get a FedEx letter inside of a week, at least you'd made it successfully through the interview. Then, only the background check or an overturn from JL could shoot you down. Any experience or knowledge of the timeline for bad news?

I interviewed on 1/25 &1/26, and got the good news yesterday via letter only. The letter does say the offer is still contingent on background checks. It also says I'm in a pool and they will call at a later time.

I did receive my records from the FAA about 2 days after the interview. They were stamped 1/23. I don't have any idea if they have received my info from XJ or not.

I have also heard that you usually hear bad news within a week. You might call the HR person at your company who does Pilot Record Improvement Act stuff to see if FedEx has made any requests.

Meet n' greet August 4th
Call for interview Jan. 5th
Interview Jan 25 & 26
Good letter (no phone call) Feb 17

All civilian
All Prop
No check airman/instructor
8000 Total
4000 Turboprop PIC
4 year degree

AND VERY EXCITED TO BE GOING TO MEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D

Don't let your guard down. It could take up to a month to get the bad news letter. I have heard of several guys who thought they were in the clear only to get the "no thanks" later.

Did they interview on the 1st/2nd of Feb? KD mentioned early on the second day of my interview that they are trying to send letters to everyone these days. Because they realize that letters have historically meant bad news, they have gone through a transition period of calling and sending letters. Presumeably just until they get the word out.....or until flightinfo does. ;) Im just passing on what I heard.....Congrats for getting the nod XJ.

Does jumpy and paranoid = "not letting your guard down"?

Still waiting to hear

I interviewed 25/26 with five others everyone has heard something except moi! There was one letter of rejection two weeks after interview, and than everyone else received pool letters on the 17th (three weeks). I assumed civilian pilots take more time before job offers can go out. Now I am sot so sure with XJ getting the pool letter. Way to go XJ! I hope to be adding a post very soon with news of my induction into the "Poolie club". In the meanwhile I'm just going back to crawling the walls.

Cheers.

Does he have any idea why he got a rejection letter? Did he have a bad feeling about the SBI or panel interview?

No news isn't necessarily good news.

I got the bad news after about 4.5 weeks of waiting. I'm a little bummed, but it wasn't totally unexpected since I felt I screwed up the SBI. At least I won't have to worry about relocating now... still trying to find the silver lining...

Sorry to hear that. When was your interview?

A guy from the 8/9 Feb group got his "congratulations" letter at exactly 2 weeks! Why do some guys hear at 2 weeks and others hear at 5 to 6 weeks? It doesn't seem to make a whole lot of sense. The 2 week guy is a civilian too with more info that has to be obtained from his current airline, so it's not a mil vs. civilian thing.

Feb 7/8 Interview

Anyone hear the news from the 7/8 Feb interviews? What are the chances of a fighter guy getting the right seat of the MD-11? Slim?

Just talked to a 7/8 dude who said one guy got the rejection letter last week.

Pretty good. I've seen a lot of fighter guys flying in the right seat of the MD-11 -- they suck at it though. Can't land in a cross wind worth a $hit. I would think it would be ten times worse for a dude that flew only half a jet (1 engine, 1 tail, one nut?)

I've flown 2 tails, two engines, and currently 2 nuts. Not sure if I can land a big fat jet in a crosswind either though. (Funny post fox3)

We all know that real fighters only have one tail and one engine. Maybe the rhino could be the exception...but even it only had 1 tail!!!! fox3...shot trashed..aww.:D

FWIW, Jan 17/18 still waiting...4 in the pool, one denied, me in waiting...no idea how the timelines are determined.
