The following are pieces from the Chief Pilot's email today:
This is just a general information list.
· BIDS. A small one soon with some B727, DC10, and Airbus Captains, some F/O slots and maybe some
more new hires. It's summer time and lots of vacation. If you are awarded a bid, you'll be
expected to come to training during the summer. Please only bid if you can come - we need to be
able to bid by seniority, but we don't have it yet. Hopefully we'll empty out the new hire pool,
but we won't know more for a few weeks. There probably won't be any MD-11 Captain vacancies as we
are still training F/Os to eliminate the need for Captains as RFOs. You'll notice some DC-10
Captains on the next bid - that's because some leased aircraft weren't returned as planned.
· B737s. Who knows if, when, how many, etc…one day it's definite, the next days it's off the table.
Painted purple and on the ramp applies.
· INTERNATIONAL MAIL CONTRACT. As ficticious as ever.
