Holy $hit, that video is scary.

My thoughts and prayers are with them right now, I hope it turns out ok.

Yikes. Thinking good thoughts for the crew.

Just heard on the news that the only two crew members on board did not survive. :( God speed.

The MD-11 can be a first class hand full on a windy day. R.I.P. to the crew if the news reports are correct. By the grace of God go I, so lets all be careful out there.

Wow. Truly a sad day. After watching that video it seemed like they pushed full forward after the second bounce. I don't think the crew would react this way. I wonder if something broke in the first bounce (pallets came forward, flt control problem).

My thoughts and prayers to the crew and family members. RIP guys.

Oh God, that video just made my stomach lurch. Those poor guys. My prayers are with them.

Horrible to watch. Condolences to their family, friends and all at FedEx.

Christ Almighty! One minute you're on approach, the next minute all hell breaks loose. As MD said, there but for the grace of God...

Prayers and remembrance for friends and family.

Yet, not a thing on the Fedex website other than an ad trying to steal business from DHL.

This is really upsetting. Can any MD-11 pilots verify some technical stuff about the MD-11 design?

A safety website quoted an MD-11 pilot as saying that the MD-11 horizontal stab is 40% smaller than the DC-10, and that it makes the plane horribly hard to control on landing. That, and the LSAS system is supposed to compensate for the lack of stability. He also said that, on touchdown, one has push forward to compensate for a sudden pitch-up caused by the autospoilers, but then one has to immediately pull back as the autobrakes kick in to keep the nosewheel from slamming down. It sounds like a handfull in harsh winds... can anyone verify these items? God bless to the crew and their families.

Sometimes our glorious machines fail us. That video was frightening and humbling. Everything went wrong so quickly.
