So much for the profession.... treat young guys that don't know better like punks and then chide them when they act that way....

C'mon guys... you can do better....

Jeez, relax Rez, we're just giving him (well deserved) crap out of earshot. If he ever shows signs of humility and actually listens to good advice I'm sure somebody will gently set him straight.

Think Flounder in Animal House.

"I heard that legacies get offered bids automatically."

"Well, usually. Unless the pledge in question is a real closet case - like Fred."

I paraphrase.

I flown with too many 20 somethings that were bitter because they were treated poorly. This thread promotes those bad attitudes.

Jeeze, go buy yourself a sense of humor. You'd think that they were talking about your son on here. We've all struggled in this industry. I think most people are just saying that he should have to pay his dues like everybody else. 20 year olds are supposed to be treated poorly. That's the way it goes, you've gotta earn respect.

Not at what airlines are pay these days!

Who decided that 20 year olds are supposed to be treated poorly? Where did you learn to think like this? Can you logically justify your attitude?

This isn't about them... it is about defining yourself... simply what you are saying is, you get to treat others with disrespect simply because of age and experience. You are disrespectful. Why do you choose to be?

The orignal poster is a 40 something that seems to have an issue with a 20 year old.....being a 20 year old..... what does the original poster expect a 20 year old to act like? A 40 year old? Why, when he's 20.

Again.. you can treat the up and coming professionals like professionals or you can be unprofessionals and treat them poorly. You get to chose how you will act.

Hey remember "boycapt" who used to post here, hired at Fedex at age 23 one year out of ERAU. Thought it was because of his skill and desire, and not a fluke of luck and timing.

Rez is right. Just because as younger pilots we (or some of us) were treated poorly or even unfairly, which I certainly was, does not mean that we in turn should return the same level of disrespect. That is not honorable or respectable. Try to set the younger ones straight with doses of realism and let them figure the rest out for themselves.

Realism?

Is realism like reality? we all know that reality has no place on FI, posting reality is lible to get called bad names, like management, anti-union, or against the brotherhood whatever that is.

Oh I tried for the first 15 minutes, but it soon became apparent that I didn't know what I was talking about. Much like politics! Anyway, since when does a 40 year old know more than a 23 year old?

You're a 40-year old posting on FI about this??? Have the Regionals institutionalized our nation's pilot's to this extreme???

Get some grapes, man.

Put this egg to nest.

Well, I am sure this kid got a participation trophy at every level, except now when reality sets in!
