Was trying to track down an old buddy, can't remember if he was at Empire or one of the others, but I do remember you folks were trying to get some extra pay.

Any updates?

Have you all been able to work it out with management or is it looking grim?

Who is it that your looking for general? I work at EM. Yes, we are trying to get a bump in pay, but then who isn't?

Not really important who it is, the cell number I got seems to no longer be in service. I think he move on to Citation Shares or one of the other fractionals.

So I take it things have not changed in the last six months or so?
To bad.

there has been a mass exodus of pilots whove left this month (myself included). if this sounds like your cup of tea sign on the dotted line.

Sline instigates trouble.

Sline=Flamebait

But on another note. Can anyone say where our guys have been getting on with or is it still a bit to early for them to say?

Flamebait?
Show me one place where I have said anything that resembles flame. Ask a ligit question about a large group of operators and this is what I get. I remeber for a while you all were really talking big about improving the place. I take it by your testiness that things have pretty much stayed the same.
Best of luck to all those leaving, I hope for you it is to greener pastures. For the rest of you I hope you get whatever improvments you are looking for and if you find the time let us know what they are, there are plenty of folks who would consider the feeder path if the pay wasn't stuck in the 1990s.

For you dudes and dudettes who are suffering thru the Empire training contract nightmare get a good lawyer. In the end you may pay more money for the legal eagle but at least you wont be giving into extortion. I did and won and will be suing to recoup my loses. Also check out USFEEDERPILOTS.COM for more support. Holy Cow things over there keep getting worse.

I thought all the feeders have the same one year contract per fed EX correct me if i am wrong? Also can you go from one feeder to another once you complete your contract with out signing another?

I don't know about MAC but at Empire when you are hired there is a 18 month contract prorated if you do leave early. When you upgrade there is an additional 12 month contract for that, the same prorate will apply. That being said there have been guys go from one feeder to another, but I'm almost positive that they had completed their contract from the previous feeder. One of our captains that came over from the MAC 135 side had to sign the 18 month contract upon hire here at Empire.

There are come feeders that have agreements between the two of them that if you leave a Van and change companies to the right seat of the F or ATR that you can keep your Van pay while in the right seat so you can build your crew time up before upgrading in the 121 side. Empire however does not participate in this. At least not the best of my knowledge.

Hope this answers your question.

Empire is the only Fed-Ex feeder that forces pilots to sign a terrible contract and harasses its peeps when they quit early.
I chose to stick it out and fight it with a lawyer and Im glad I did. I had my contract invalidated due to the vagueness of the contract Empires history of screwing them up and because a captain was just fired for not signing a contract well after he finished his upgrade and IOE which my attorney has a Fed-Ex administator on record that Empire did not repay them for that loss. When my countersuit is done i'll let you all who are being screwed over have my lawyers number. Hes not cheap but nows theirs a precidence and a good chance you'll put the smack down. BTW, my attorney is MEM based and knows people who know people.

congrats on signing a new contract.

bling i thought you quit as stated in above post. if not then just quit and take the summer off. it will be the first one in a while for you.

That wasnt me. All cheap bastardos are welcome to use THE BIG ASSS BLING AIR account (that was for all you Idiotacracy fans).
I think the Hoff needs some more Wendy's.

That F-type is pretty cool. I'm glad to see Fokker Pilot in your description. It's way better than ATR pilot. The F may have some problems but that because its old. The ATR may have some problems but thats because it's designed that way.

mmmmmm wendys. i totally ment it as a compliment just adding some humor to the uprgrade contract bs, but if you plan on staying around then it dosen't matter much. the f is way better than the atr although the atr is easier to fly at least whent he f breaks it breaks and dosen't o wierd stuff that cannot be duplicated. it is also a tank in the ice. which helps a lot down in texas.

How come Wendy's tastes better after a few brewskies or a keg of vodka like in the Hoff's case?
Easier to fly with the A/P on maybe. I dont think there is a worse handflown A/C in service. Or when you click off the A/P and it does a wicked barrel roll. I do miss the F some times but that may be because I don't fly it anymore.

Bling your just feeling a little nostalgic. The reality is the F is an old stinky aircraft that has no benefit of an A/P. But what the hell am I talkin about I love this plane. Very rarely does it break, when it does you throw parts at it and away you go. The F is truly in a realm of its own when it comes to genuine character. It flies great, goes through the weather and ice without blinking and at the end of each flight you have to earn every smooth landing. :)

Who wouldn't get a kick out of freight doggin in this old bird?

I must admit I've seen the F flip its middle finger at more than one insane load of ice. I'm also amazed at what a conversation starter my F27 type rating is.

Bling, come to PHX and join the fun! Worm, whatya up to these days?

That's true. In the ATR if you have a speck of ice and or wind you have to add a ton of landing speed, a knot for every accident I think it is. All you are really doing is giving away precious runway. It's cool when I jumpseat and the old salt Captain sees my F type and it's an instant bond. RJ and T-prop guys are a dime a dozen but there are only a handfull of Friendshipers.

I thought it said come to PHX and eat the worm. I'm trying to get there, really, really trying. I want to be one of Herb's children.

i remeber i was doing a test flight on an f one time with the mechanic in the jumpseat and all we were doing was touck and goes and not a one was smooth.after about the third one the mechanic asked if i knew how to land and i told him that is as good as it gets. as far as what i am up to. a whole lot of nothing. just found out that i destroyed my knee and might have to have surgery on it. othe than that keeping it real.
