When I interviewed a couple weeks ago, we were told to not expect a phone call but a letter instead to let us know of the good/bad news. Has anyone received a letter with the good news at all? If they're still doing phone calls, when do those go out?

In my group of 6, one guy received a letter putting him in the pool(last week), two got phone calls with the same outcome yesterday, 3 of us are still waiting to hear. It's been 22 days since the panel, SBI, and testing...

Took one month to the day for me to get a phone call, letter the next day. One guy in my group just got the letter the day I got the call. Third guy got the phone call the day after I did, last 3 in the group still waiting. Interview 5/6 Jan.

Not sure that I understand why some have to wait sooo long to get an answer compared to others in the same group... maybe background checks?

That's my guess. At my airline, It took approx. 2 weeks for the records folks to send out the info. to FedEx. Some places may take longer or shorter, depending on many factors.

Didn't you all play nice at the interview and share names and phone numbers/email to keep in touch afterwards (with the other interviewees)?

Just a guess, but since those other two were military and you appear to be pure civilian, it is likely that your PRIA requests would take much longer than theirs. That COULD be the reason for the delay. Just a swag, could be way off.

Good luck.

no call/letter yet

Even though the FedEx truck brought something to the house today and nearly gave my wife a heart attack it was all for nothing.

Just went over the two weeks with no word but from earlier posts it sounds like it might be another 2 weeks anyway. I checked with everybody from my group just yesterday and no word for any of them.

Most of our group were military so I would suspect the background checks are getting done quickly but you still have to wait for the final signature from JL from what I hear. Never know how many items he has on his desk to review especially with this big bid that is coming soon.

Since I've already waited a couple of years to get the interview another week or so is easy.

Anybody know of any who got bad news after passing the sim? The only one I heard of was for lying about traffic tickets, supposedly. Just wondering if there were any unexplained "thanks, but no thanks" letters sent out.

That one will get you everytime dumba$$ !!!! FDX does one hell of a serious background check so dont even try to hide something. Credit reports and all.......they know when you've pi$$ed last for christ sakes.

I spilled the beans when I went in. Everything I've read and people I've talked to say it's better to let them know upfront. I even told them about a ticket that I did a defensive driving class for which for which should not show up on my driving record.

I had forgotten about it when I sent in my pre-interview package. I don't think the guys interviewing me cared much though since it had been over two years earlier.
