It looks as though I'll have a meeting with an assistant chief pilot and my sponsor over at Fedex within the next couple of weeks. The ACP will determine if I'm interview material. Does anyone know what to expect from this type of meeting? Perhaps some general interview/company info type of questions? I'm considering an interview prep with someone for this. Thanks for your replies.

I am not going to advise someone not to do all that is possible to get a job in today's airline environment. But, interview prep is a bit much. A suit and resume is all that is needed. Be yourself..

The one I participated in went like this: Candidate dressed in interview garb. Sponsor/s, candidate, & ACP exchange pleasantries and sit down at a table. ACP looks at resume and asks minor questions about background & availability. Candidate then leaves the room and ACP reviews sponsor Q&A sheet with sponsor (this is the person who gets asked the questions -- not the candidate). For you it will be painless. Just be professional and polite -- well groomed and friendly. Keep in mind you don't actually have to be there -- your sponsor can do this without you. It is a great plan for you to attend, but your role in this meeting is strangely minor. Save your interview prep for the interview. Best of luck.

Anyone have a different experience? Anyone?.........Bueller?

.

Mine was a little different. My sponsor and I went into his ACP's office, and we all sat down. We all chatted for about 20-30 minutes. Mostly it was the ACP chatting with me. He asked about my flight experience, why I like FedEx, the typical stuff. It was more like the three of us in a realxed environment. My sponsor was great, interjecting things like my instructor and management experience. It was very comfortable and casual. But of course I wore the suit!!!
