I talked to the head of standards, and he has been over to fly the sim.

There's at least one, maybe more pilots assigned to the program full time to work with Airbus.

Training is scheduled to start in early '08, I think. Remember that the freighter is going to be later than the pax version.

Rumor is - it'll be a two week program for A330/340 types, and four weeks on everybody else. Systems knowledge isn't going to be stressed, just how to run checklists....

Is Fedex training crews for the A-380 already? When will the first flights start?

FedEx is the launch customer for the Freighter version of the A-380 getting the first 10 that roll of the line. Expect delivery the last quarter of '08.

I have a FedEx model picture of one loaded with cans but don't know how to attach it.

How is this for a rumor....

Heard that one of the pax carriers in line to get the A380 is pulling out, and because of this FedEx may get ours up to a year early. I don't know which pax carrier.

Getting Ready Mister!

YES! Here at FedEx each and every crewmember has taken it upon himself to ready themselves for the expected intense A380 program!

I for one have been "chair flying" making my oceanic position reports and practicing on my typpinggg, I mean, f**k, typing skills. Thorough knowledge of emergency evacutation procedures is mandatory - hence, I've joined the local YMCA and have begun my high-platform diving/evacuation drills - incredibly refreshing!!!!

Back to chair flying.
