To get called for an interview, does one need a letter from a current employee (pilot) or do they want those after the initial screening. I was told both, not sure......

Preinterview

The only thing that they will look at before the interview are the Fedex employee online recommendations. If you know somone who has flown with you and works here, have them write a rec online. You can have as many of those in the system as people will write.

You also should have 3 (Max) employee numbers of referances on your application.

there are interviews happening on 2 June and word on the street (training Dept) that there will be 2 classes in June

Good Luck

Depends...

As everyone knows this industry it is about timing and who you know.

With that said, in regards to timing back in the late 90's and early 2000's you didn't need multiple recommendations because everyone was hiring and all the airlines needed "qualified" pilots. I got hired at FedEx with 1 LOR and a little more than the 1000 PIC turbine requirement (1800 PIC). The difference is that I was hired when FedEx was awarded the postal contract and they needed 500 pilots ASAP...lucky me.

Back to your question...in TODAYS market and current airline situations...IMHO I would guess that you would need, as a minimum, 2 LOR with 1 person personally visiting the CP on your behalf and some solid flight time to get called at FDX. Your online app must have the FDX pilots employee number AND that pilot must submit one as well.

Hey.......

From what i hear you needed all the help you could get in the hawker!! how in the world did YOU get on with FedeX?!?!?
