Not sure about Denver, but there is a good outfit in Phoenix that does online Written prep. Take 1 to 2 days in the comfort of your home to practice on their website then go to your local Cats or Laser and take the exam. The send you a prep book also to glance at prior to going online. You can breeze through the book while on a trip. Good gouge on some chapters, good easy to learn formulas for the math and the online questions have been reduced.
Just did my FE with them, studied for 1.5 days and got a 99%, missed one.
I also did my ATP with them. Highly recommend. Former military/airline pilot owned/operated and is personal, can get him on the phone or via e-mail anytime. http://www.loneeaglefaaprep.com/
I googled shepard aviation & studied from their database. A link on their website will lead you to a CATS testing center. There is one @ centienal airport. Ended up with a 99 & studied for 2 days. EZ
Here is that link...I thought this road was easiest for me, ie., excellent data base of Q's, cheap, never had to go out of town, studied at home getting bj's from my girlfriend to ease the high pressure stress of this important event.
Here's what somebody told me to do and it really works!
Buy yourself a Gleim FE test book, use an orange highlighter to mark all the correct answers. Then read through the book three times, question and correct answer only. Then go take the test at your local testing center.
Orange only, not yellow BTW. For some psychobabble reason this color is best.
I did it this way, and ended up with a 98% both times.
Figures, I am still in corporate and always will be
Hope this helps,
FF
Of course, I second Porch's method: regular BJ's during the studying helps a lot, too.
I took the FEX 2 times. I recently tried to buy the book. It is no longer in print. It looks like the CD is the only thing you can buy now. Anyone else have this problem?
