FedEx DC-10 loses a cowling inflight!

A FedEx DC-10 lost pieces of an engine covering during a flight
from Newark to California. Luckily, no one was injured and the
plane was able to land at its destination. An FAA spokeswoman
confirms four pieces of an engine cover tore off and dropped
to the ground in New Jersey just after 2 a.m. The biggest piece
was 8 feet by 5-feet, which landed on a street in a residential
community. The other pieces were 5-by-3. The FAA and FedEx are
investigating.

Didn't Airtran lose a cowl @ a year ago? I remember seeing the picture a passenger took in seat 9A - maybe FedEx contracted out their maintenance to some third-rate vendor too!
