There is usually 4 seats in the back. One sits separately and a row of three.
Depending on your height you could lay down on them. Most people pull the cushions off and lay on the floor.

Six in the back on a300 and 4 in the back on a310s, 2 in the cockpit with Captain's approval.

How many jumpseats? Do they have a row in the back like the MD10 where you can lay down?

Depends...

In the 310, if you can not raise the arm rests, most people pull off the seat cushions, line them up and stretch out on the floor. There is plenty of floor space in the Airbus.

In the 300 it is a little harder. The seats in the back are a folding style seat so you can't really take off the seat cushions. What you can do is fold down 3 or 4 seats and lay across them (no arm rests to worry about).

Hope this helps:confused:

Dude, be careful jumpseating on fedex. I saw this documentary where this plane crashed in the ocean and the lone survivor (jumpseater) fell in love with a volleyball. If you do, you may want to bring a Maxim magazine with you, or a sat phone. Either might do in a pinch. And if you feel the urge to get too attached to something from the sporting goods phlya, for god's sake don't tell anyone.

Thanks FDX guys. Actually it is the A300 (not 310) that I was curious about. I will be carying a blowup doll and some porn, instead of Wilson. I think the blowup doll will keep me more entertained on the deserted island :p

If you are jumping on FedEx you could be on either the -300 or the 310. We have about equal number of both and they use them as necessary on routes. Might be a 300 one day and a 310 the next day.

What are some of the places you can fly to from LAX? Is there, by chance, a Sao Paulo, Brazil (GRU) flight from there?
