Worst MRE: Your first.
Best MRE: Your last one.

Anybody have the pleasure of the cold weather ones? The ones that come in white packages and have half a million times the amount of calories the regular MREs pack?

Great for sitting around waiting.

Yup. I remember that one meal came in two big white packets. Brings back memories of January above 10k feet in a snow cave that I dug, wondering how many of us would survive the coming storm.

And lets not forget the giant goofy tennis racket snow shoes that go right along with the white MRE's.

I don't miss that crap one iota.

We use to have competitions to see if it was possible to eat half of one of those MRE crackers in 30 seconds, or a whole one in a minute. Sounds easy, but it is hard to accomplish.

Amen, brother.

MRE--meal, ready to eat. AKA Meals Rejected by Ethiopians.

Pork patties were pretty bad. They looked like dried out McD's hash browns. In the mid '80s, they forgot(?) to include Tabasco.

The mashed potatoes were pretty awful. The last time I had those I was plenty hungry and had no time to heat em up. Despite my hunger I still couldn't stomach the suckers without mixing them with a packet of peanut butter.
I prefer the Jambalaya. I wonder though, what kind of meat the little shrimps truly are.
