A checklist is a printed reference that a pilot uses to CHECK that certain actions have been performed. I assume that you are just being sarcastic, but your post is a good segue for a rant.
For those of you who think that pilots use a checklist as a do list, you're a bunch of idiots. It's called a checklist, not a do list. The plan is to perform that required actions and then use the checklist in a challenge/response way in order to ensure/check that all items were in fact accomplished. If I used a checklist to command my actions in a preflight cockpit setup check, I'd be there all day. I run the panel, then we, the crew, uses a checklist to verify that all items/actions were tended to. It's the same for before landing checks, you put the gear down, you turn the ignitors on, you turn the landing lights on, etc, then you call for the checklist so that both crewmembers can work together to verify that it all got done.
OK end of rant, I hope that the ten percent of you who think the check list is a do list learned something.
