Maury County, MRC is just outside of Nashville in Columbia, TN. Saturn has been running charters from all over using mostly Falcons and Lears but also Convairs and even an Ameristar DC-9. And yes, Bob's Raider Aviation is one of the few remaining FBO's that actually makes you feel welcome. I always try to buy as much Jet-A as I can from him.

By all means - go to MRC and talk to Bob or Tom at Raider Aviation. These guys are a class act! They will more than likely steer you in the right direction. I used to fly freight out of the Detroit area and this was my favorite place to go - coast to coast. They would either cook for you or have food that was ordered elsewhere waiting for you when you arrived.

And if your there over night go to "Sports Page"...good little sports bar not too far from the Jameson INN

I have to second or third that info about Raider Aviation.
Class act all the way.
They treat cargo pilot like were not a lower class of pilots, like we sometimes get treated at some FBO's.
I always enjoy going to MRC, early morning Egg McMuffins, late night pizza, dinner time burgers or if your really lucky BBQ ribs.
Also some of the cheapest fuel, I almost feel quilty buying it, it's so cheap, last I paid was around 1.66 US per Gal of JetA, now comming from Canada thats dirt cheap.
As for the aircraft on the ramp, they aren't Raider's, the Falcons, and Lears are Cherry Air's or Ameristar's they are flying Auto Parts for Saturn which get trucked by Raider to Spring Hill TN.
MRC is 40 NM south west of BNA.
Raider does have a flight school and some charter aircraft, a Cherokee 6, Seneca II, and a Cessna 340 I believe.
So if your flying by and need some fuel, by all means stop in I would guess that AVgas is just as cheap.

CF141FE,
Just being nosy, how do you know about 5LE, and the fly-by?

MRC

Sorry, hate to keep this post off-subject...

but I gotta send my own shoutout to the crew at Raider who gots mad love for the piston Convairs comin' in to MRC!

They treat freight dogs like kings. We tell our ops "charter bidders" to keep a special lookout for trips to MRC.

guess that AVgas is just as cheap.

Yeah, it probably was but I don't quite remember cuz the last time I was there I was too busy stuffing my face with BBQ.

Screw the BBQ, I want the russian "mail-order bride" chick!! I think Wang know's who i'm talking about.......

Funny, MRC is the only place I've pulled up to in a oil-saturated piston Convair and still felt like a airline pilot! If we ever get a trip back down there, I would crack skulls to get that trip!!

Eastern European lovin' here I come............

c141fe

you are telling other guys to watch out for the advice they get from Air inc. they need to check the advice they get from you. why are you asking about a low pass that you called the faa on?
