This is a BS post. Please show your source on this. I talked with the SWAPA Safety Rep who is on the FAA Panel that drafted the changes. First the draft is just that. Second once, and the word is "if", it is adopted then they were going to give the airlines 180 days to implement all the changes. There is nothing online that I could find that documents this 15 Oct claim. If someone has a reference then please post it.

I have no problem with flying a 9hr day...it's HOW those 9hrs are flown...plus, I'd say a long layover on both ends of that day.

Before anything like this went into effect, the FAA must first issue a NPRM (Notice of Proposed Rule Making), which lists and explains the rules. Air Carriers can then rebut or protest some or all of the NPRM.
Obviously any rule changes like this are probably at least a year away.

agreed...about a year. It'll take time for the carriers to plug in the new requirements and see what kind of trips and lines will be generated...look at staffing...then adjust if needed.
