Why does everyone here think AF guys were ascots? Are you f*ckers that old? Pony, do you were golf shirts under your flight suit, dog tags, and ugly sunglasses when you're on the boat?[/quote

I am getting a little long in the tooth. But Marines never wore golf shirts, I still have a dog tag in my boot, and I generally wear whatever sunglasses I want. I haven't been on a boat for a couple of years, but then again, I was never the epitome of fashion. I also never got laid by Kelly McGillis (Maverick's other love interest in Top Gun, besides Val Kilmer). Maybe for the new A10-C we could all have ascots made with the # we were to fly it, like the B-2 guys. Sorry for posting so much, I'm a little bored on my layover.

Marines are proof positive you can teach monkeys to fly. And, typically, slapping some nifty MFDs on a jet doesn't make it "new," but if makes you feel better about smokin' along at 250 KIAS, so be it.

Nobody looks good in brown.

I don't get the joke. To be funny, there has to be some element of truth to the joke. This doesn't even past the 10% rule.

We finally get an "us." Where and when did the MC-130s put you in the trees, Dave? Even if you're a SEAL, you can't claim OPSEC. You've said before you're '94 USNA. If so, you're well past your prime, Dave.

Do you blame Patilla on the AF, too?

MAGNUM!!

The MC-130 guys from Eglin couldn't figure out how to get the wind data into the computers when they dropped us in NC and didn't really seem to give a sh*t when we ended up in the trees 2 out of 3 times. They said it was a complex problem. Who am I to doubt them?

Just Cause is a topic I will be happy to discuss over a beer.

Couldn't "figure it out," huh? Contrary to what you may think, the odds of the USAF having a crew of 6 or so in which NOBODY knows how to 'figger out them 'puters' is nil. Maybe you didn't hear them right (or care, or understand, or whatever).

How was the subsequent CAS in NC? Get everything you need?

Patilla was a cheap shot. I was trying to prove a point and lowered myself in doing so. Unlike some others on this board, I get no joy out of the failures of sister services.

Hey d*ckhead, WTF over? We're on the same team idiot. You'll be working with F-22's for years to come. Shut the f*ck up and show a little service pride. Pathetic.

Yeah, mig cap is not vital RIGHT NOW. Two points here: 1. The F-22 doesn't do just DCA (or "mig cap" in herbivore speak). Other missions in its doc statement include OCA - LO escort...i.e. escorting F-117's and B-2's to their targets and DEAD against double digit SAM's. Are those not important? Before you rattle off "mig escort," catch a clue on exactly what the Raptor community is training too. 2. Have you seen the same intel reports as me about these not so friendly nation-states plus'ing up their arsenals in both surface to air and air to air capes? China is buying more Flankers than Russia can build (and their producing thier own indigenous ones as well). Heck, you can look at any unclass website to see that. You don't think that poses a threat? I don't know what crack you're smoking, but even if that threat is not existent now it can be very viable in the not too distant future.

Hopefully next time I need gas you'll be so kind as to give Magnum's "most expensive airshow exhibit ever" the humility of a little jet fuel because we're not currently in OIF/OEF. Or is that too below you?

I never said ascots. I said blue jump suits. Down in Eglin during SOW cross-training all the AF guys wore blue jump suits (except CCTs)

Wow Dave, welcome back to the Forum. After Duece asked exactly what you did in the military and you failed to respond for about a week, I figured we had finally seen the last of you. Well, I've got my note pad and pen ready - I'm standing by for your enlightenment on CAS procedures - from a SEAL's perspective of course. You are still a Navy SEAL right? Or now are we claiming Delta force this week? Just let me know when you can.

-Yeah right. How about a gun? The COCOM is specifically asking for A-10s right now because the F-16 20mm peashooter can't get the job done. SOF guys don't like hunting down squirters who run from a car just shot by a 20mm. Nothing personal but the F-16 was never designed for this mission. Neither was the F-35.

Isn't the gun on the Hornet 20mm, too?

-Thank god you can teach monkeys to fly or I never would have got wings.
-The hog doesn't go smokin' along anywhere. I drink my weed slow as well. We loiter so we can kill more stuff. You'll get your chance in China or India. As long as you guys don't let any leakers through the cap, I'll be happy.
-I only wear my brown suit at work or on my way to the bank. magnum-do you work for purple, perhaps?
