Just found this on airmail...
Just went there this weekend. The FBO is only a fuel truck, Strachan's
(242) 345-0641. "Jr" will do a great job with the fuel but only if you have
cash or a fuel card. He does not accept credit cards. $3.40 a gallon. The
customs agents were very friendly and clearing took less than 5 minutes.
There is a $60 "overtime" fee on Sunday for customs even though they are
they for the airlines anyway. I am still a little confused if the
passengers are suppose to go through security at the terminal before going
to the aircraft, several of the airport employees were too. Bring your own
chocks. We did not use a handler. The "control tower" on 118.0 provides
minimal information and advisories only. Our Sprint phones did not work.
We stayed at the Club Peace and Plenty which was adequate but service was
below standard (~$200 a night). Watch the servers - they will tell you the
tip is not included in the meal when it really is. We rented a car but
there is really no place to drive, a cab might work out cheaper. The hotel
did have wireless internet but only in the lobby. There is a great boat
rental place across the street from the hotel where you can rent a Boston
whaler boat for the day for about $85.
and...
Be careful with the boats, I took out a propeller that cost me $185, plus
the boat rental. Best place I've ever laid over. Dito on the Peace and
Plenty, I think there are two of them. I stayed at the one, not downtown.
It was really nice, but, Yeap, NO SERVICE. Cingular phones did work. DS
