Anyone have any luck with cell phone service in Exhuma?

Nop... no luck anywhere in the exumas....
Only a few places where it's working for me (Marsh harbor, freeport, nassau, north eleuthera, treasure cay I think too)..

G4G5--Is this payback for your ANC "vacation"? ;) TC

The last plane I flew had a Bahamian cell phone we kept on board that worked fine there. I think you need a GSM cell phone to work there. I don't know much about cell phones though.

My cingular phone worked there. They have a new agreement with some bahamanian phone company now.

I thought that Cingular might work but I wanted to check.

BTC, the Bahamas telephone company has a reciprocal arrangement with Cingular. I knew it worked in Freeport but I was not sure about Exuma.

I called the Four Seasons and they told me that it would not work, that's why I was a bit confused

Just a little nod to the motherland.

No cell? No problem. Get on the internet and use skype.com

I wish it was that simple, the hotel we are staying at doesn't have broadband.

You ever stay at the hilton nassau. It's got broadband but a pretty cool way of doing it. They give you abox that plugs into a normal AC power outlet. I wish more hotels would do it. It's fast too.

You're scaring me here G4G5... beautiful beachs nearby, golf courses nearby, rum available in adequate quantity, some lonely thing in a bikini must be vacationing there and you're lookin for... cell phones and broadband? Tell the boss...when he finds you.... it takes 12 hours to get ready. It's an island thing!

hey...since we're talking about exuma, it looks like i'm going there for the weekend (for work, of course.) never been there. anyone know some cool places to go/stuff to do? or any other tips/advice about the airport, ect.?

thanks.
