"I currently work for XJET and have tried giving reccomendations to a few of my old instructing buddies with 800-1000 hrs.....the Chief Pilot emailed me back and told me they were not competitive without 135 or 121 experience."
"Seems a little goofy, they hired me without prior 135 or 121, but like someone else said, they're getting more selective. From the chief pilot's voicemail last week, they will be hiring 64 pilots in july, and 32 pilots for every month the rest of the year after that.I heard the same thing from a buddy of mine that works at XJet last night. "
I heard the samething from a friend of mine that works for XJet also, about the 121/135 experince and hiring.
All you can do is try!!!
If you go into the thing expecting to be given the job without passing "go" then you may be dissapointed. If an 800 hour guy walks and is humble and eager to work for us, the hiring dept sees that...now if we get a 1500 hr guy with a bit too much confidence and a logbook in dissaray...then the hiring dept sees that too.
I know of a few guys who were shot down from the git-go because they had logbook times that did not add up...like ASEL + AMEL di not equal TOT..etc...
simple stuff guys can get ya!
