I love it

Hmmm lets see ewr for adelade? I say,..... C..YAAAA
I guess there's more to expressjet than all you nay sayers knew huh? Yes we are the next Idependance air!...................... A$$ holes

Now THAT'S a tough commute... SA4P Cairns-GUM-NRT-IAH. On the bright side, I bet it'd be an awesome place to live for a few years. It will definitely beat IAH/CLE/EWR. The only delay will be roadkill kangaroos. :)

this utilization of those aircraft doesn't do anything for the current pilot group. doubt they will have trips that begin and end with a dead head on Qantas to Sydney. so every plane they send down under is fewer pilots they need in the domestic system

Yes......I'll go down under anytime, as long as she returns the favor.

It's always good to make sure the drapes match the carpet. Unless, of course it's just an area rug.

Huge mistake.......

Australia has and always will be a closed market, there's only enough room for so many airlines and the current trio of Qantas, Virgin Blue and Jet* have things pretty much all their own way.

Added to which the RJ, of any flavour, is completely wrong in Australia. Too small and far too limited when it comes to performance. That's why the 146/Avro and Dash 8 have been so successful. They're much more suited to the short runways, sector lengths and high density ops you face in Oz.

That doesn't seem to bother anyone in the US, there's always people trying to start new operations whether needed or not. Virgin America, Skybus, etc..

That's true but it's not the US................

JetStar is QANTAS, however Tiger just launched a domestic carrier with the A320, lets see XJet compete using the 145....could be interesting to see.

Yes your all so smart and $90 a barrel oil means nothing? It's all $hit any way I'm just dreaming of OZ and an RZ 500 in my stable

Cabotage? I don't see a group of foreign pilots flying domestic routes getting a warm welcome in Australia. I'm not sure the government would allow it. How would it go here if Qantas or Mexicana or China Airlines started flying domestically?
