Okay, here is the story. I had a 5 min conversation with Dawn Daniels in the XJT lunch room less than 24 hours ago...so this is right from the horse's mouth. The only reason that I talked to her is because I have a friend who is trying to submit an application. Dawn told me that the minimums to be accepted into the online application are 600tt/100me...however, when you get a call in 3-4 months, you need to have atleast 1000tt/200me...In addition to that, she said that if you are a flight instructor, you will not be considered, unless you have done something else for atleast 6 months (i.e. charter, night freight, etc.) It is true that in the past months, XJT has been hiring flight instructors with 600tt, but that is over now, atleast until they get desperate again. I know that this sucks, but I think that the reason for this is because they have a lot of furloughed 121 pilots in the resume file right now, so they can be picky. We have had a ton of Independence guys and gals going through training over the past 2 months. Also, I have heard that a lot of the guys who have come right from flight instructing recently have had trouble getting through training, which costs the company $$$, when they have to either retrain them or wash them out after spending training money on them. Sorry guys, just hang in there...In about six months or a year, the tables will probably turn again in your favor. Just be patient. PM me if you have any questions that I can help you with. Oh, and for those of you who don't know, Dawn Daniels is the head pilot recruiter for XJT.
