Anybody receive a 2nd call for an interview. I've heard they have been asking line pilots to do the interviews and possible interviews starting next week

I saw an email from the chief pilot at a friends house. They were inviting line pilots to talk with the chief regarding helping with interviews. I have heard nothing as to when the inteviews are starting...

I heard the same thing. I have 2 buddies that have been there for 3 years and one of them has been asked to help with interviews.

Is Glen Clemmons still the chief pilot?

Yes, Glen is still the Chief in IAH. Hellofaguy! He was in my 145 FO initial, I didnt realize he was a chief pilot until late in the class because he was foolin around so much!

One of the guys I fly with in the Navajo and C-421 was Glen's fligt instructor here in Panama City, Fl. His name is Stuart. Glen will know who he is if you mention the name. But, I was just curious. I'm going to keep on sending updated resumes (even with my low time). I'm not afraid of NO.

got a postcard from Express Jet....

Don't know why...
with almost 3,100 hours total, 555 Multi, all CFI ratings, ferry pilot crossing the oceans in Cessna and so on.... what else do they want?
anyone has an idea?

email of someone in the company?

AN-2.

Dont get too nervous, I dont think they've called anyone back yet. I think they are still getting their ducks in a row.

the postcard says they dont want me....

here it is:

Thank you for your interest in a career with
ExpressJet. At this time, we do not have
opportunities available that match your experience and
skills.
However if a position more closely suited to your
background develops, we will be happy to review your
qualifications at that time.
Again we appreciate your interest and wish you success
in your job search.

so what do you think?

The Phone was one month ago.

There is no logic in the recruiting systems around the world...
they never take the really good pilots...
I don't know who they take and how they do it....
A lot of it is just luck, and knowing someone....

That is what I think....
what do you think?

in my phone interview they didn't ask for much...
they don't have my info, my times and so on....
they don't know if I am good or not....

so how do they do it?....

Yeah a situation like they "become a decent place to work"

Otto, 80for80: you jerks. This thread is for people interested in working for XJT. Why do you have to come in here and sh!t all over the place? You must have some serious issues.

80for80, I just read you post on "worst hotel". More airline bashing. Let me guess... every airline sucks but yours? Am I right?
If you're trying to do a service by telling everybody which airlines don't suck, then make it easier on all of us, tell us the 80for80 approved airlines?

Approved Airlines

80for80 approves only of american eagle...
------------------

80for80:

Is your life so bad that you have to resort to complaining on the internet?

Do you hate the whole industry or just XJT?

It almost sounds like you wish you were with XJT by the way you constantly complain... You are sort of like a stalker...

Be a little more positive dude! AE is hiring, you may get that upgrade after all.

Oh yeah, go away.

AN-2,

Did they ask you the same questions as we all got?
Were you asked to read the icing speech?
Did they say you would get a call in 60 - 90 days by a senior recruiter?

good luck!

Because XJet is a sh!t place to work! all those PFTers you know!
We'll see how far they raise the bar! If they're not careful Mesa will be doing their flying soon.

Oh yeah! Talk about raising the bar! Look at your screename! 80 for 80?! You told AMR you'd fly a 130 set airplane for 80 bucks an hour! I think you still seem pretty stuck on lowering the bar!

The phone questions.

yes, I think so....
one with the storm and another one. Captain?

Were you asked to read the icing speech?
No. they stopped there....

Did they say you would get a call in 60 - 90 days by a senior recruiter?

no...

good luck!

Thanks....

Hard to understand what they are looking for..
I did my best, said I will check the weather, get in touch with the company center and so on....
What else can I do or answer?

Blow it off! You received a standard form letter from some HR knucklehead that didn't have the brains to know that a phrase like "matching your skills" would be an insult to a pilot. That's a form letter that came out of some HR book somewhere that should only be sent to people who have applied for a generic job (meaning you want to work there in any capacity) at a company and not a specific, skilled position. Keep applying if you want to work there.

I have 135 time... but they never asked!

So how can they know?

My 135 time is from overseas but it is not important.
it is the same like in the US.

Just reapply in a month or two.

I know the standard drill was 6 months from the personal interview before. If it wasn't stated just send another resume, or the online app. It will show interest, and if I know my company, they will probably not even remember your previous application.

I'll take a PFT guy anyday over a numbnut that is willing to fly a Mad Dog for 80 bucks an hour. With that attitude it's pretty obvious what your voting record was like on Eagle's last contract. You're just a sad case in point of what too many years at Eagle will do to a guy. No wonder my buddies that are FO's there b*tch about the captains they fly with...

Didn't you have to update your times in the initial application process? Wasn't there some breakdown on total/recent/121/135 times?

Seems as if that might be one way to winnow the ranks a bit.

Flight Times

The breakdown only included three things. Total time, Multi time, and recent time. they did not care about type ratings, 121, 135, or anything...

1500/500 is the magic number. No idea why. I was told that the HR department is running the show and thats what they chose....

Latest word from Jims Nides voice mail is that they will be ramping things up in March. He told us that if we were interested in helping interview to get a resume into the CPO's. So those who are wondering whats going on, thats it. They have not started interviewing or even scheduling interviews yet. Hang in there peoples, we are going to need you.

Rumor in the EWR crew room today was that they would start "slow" at about 30 pilots a month to see where there gaps in the training etc (we haven't had new hires for awhile), and then slowly ramp up to around 60 a month like before. In 2004 alone we are supposed to grow 22-26% in ASMs and a straight block hour increase of about 13% year over year from 2003. Good luck to all those that apply.
