Not sure if this has been reported yet, but I work at FXE, and Exec Star has been shut down. I'm assuming that their cert has been pulled, but someone told me that the FAA actually told the IRS to take all their planes so that Clyde could not fly them any more. Who knows if that is true or not, but I can say for sure that they are not flying anymore.

Yup.

A few months ago someone taxied one of his POS King Airs into one of his Barons. Clyde told the pilot that he had to pay for all the damages. When the pilot told him to go pound sand, Clyde went to the pilots car and smashed all the windows in. Gotta love it!

RIP Execstar

Woundn't be surprised if this happened but your version is slightly off.

Execstar is gone Clyde is now a private pilot also, from what I understand as well as the 135 ticket got yanked by the feds.Looks like it's back to runner drugs from columbia for him.

EDIT* Groundpounder where do you work line service?

Haha Banyans. You guys get that lock fixed for us Flight Express guys yet?

Seriously though, everyone at Banyans is pretty cool.

Any outcome on the O'Conner Trial? I wish there was a way that the public could offer opinion about this guy in court. I can't wait to see him at the Gym and laugh in his face. I saw him the other day at the Gym and told him that I was upset to see he worked out here. I told him I hope I never see him around, and it was in front of his trainer. POS. This guy deserves to be evicted, have his car reposesed and all of the things that are headed his way, I just hope I can hear the stories. Anyone have any info on why this all came about? What the last straw was?

That lock got fixed long ago.

Thanks, at least someone thinks I am cool........lol

You know if anyone is currently hiring down at FXE???

I think A-OK is looking for a Falcon pilot, that is about all I can think of. There are lots of people down here floating around from job to job, and a pretty close knit network of pilots, so alot of times jobs don't get posted, just have to be the right place at the right time.

But, depending on your total time, look for Florida Jet, Hop-a-Jet, A-OK Jets, and Presidential. They are the biggest outfits down here.

Anybody know what happened with Clyde?

I would say flying a EMB at a regional is :p, and second getting your balls bit by a south florida dispatcher.

Clyde is banned from ever holding a management position in aviation from what I hear. Execstar and his (personal) certs. have been revoked. Latest I hear is that he's trying to get someone to get or, someone who has a 135 ticket and he will be a "silent" entity. HA!! I'm just glad they found out about this guy and his company before he killed somebody.

Can someone supply details about exactly what happened with Execstar, why exactly the feds pulled their certificate? I just called the FSDO and they were pretty tight-lipped about the whole thing, but said they could confirm "they are not operating now." Doesn't sound like a done deal - there's a chance they'll be back?

Talk about jumping on the band wagon without knowing the facts. I worked for Clyde for 9 months and when the **CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED** was about to hit the fan, he told all of his pilot about a month before so so we could get out. He got me a job flying Lears to help me out. A lot of people don't like the guy because he demands a lot out of his pilots and most people can't take it. If you could, you'd make atleast $35K a year flying his light twins, and I was making over $60K flying his King Airs. Pilots are his problem. In a six week period, one pilot in the JAX base: ran off the end of a runway, (never notified the company) landed over an airliner on the wrong runway in Atlanta, (never notified the company) and then gear uped a Baron. That all took place in a week and a half, and that pilot was and AI. A couple of weeks later, the nose gear on a C-210 would not come down, hence partial gear up landing, and then a couple of weeks later, a MECHANIC, jumped tha chalks after completing a 100 hour on a Baron and ramed it into a King Air 90 totaling them both.

Everyone did get there final pay check. Many of the planes we leased (he had a fleet of 19 aircraft). so they were sent back to there owners, and he is selling most of the others.

As I understand it, Clyde has private pilot instrument privledges, but he has been long burnt out over aviation.

The CEO, Vic is looking to buy Tropic Air with some investors from NY, which is great because that place is run like a joke, Clyde will have nothing to do with it.

I'm glad I woked for Clyde, good money, great experience, and I'm glad I'm not working for him anymore.

I worked for execstar with shamus, it was definately an experience. I got a lot of good experience, like flying during hurricanes, and doing some very marginal mexican VFR. It made me a better pilot. I'm just glad I was able to walk away from it all. It's such a far cry from the 121 world, but fun!

To answer Millhouse21's question.....Clyde's certificates (ALL OF THEM) have been revoked. He isn't even a private pilot anymore. That probably wont stop that jerk though. He's a legend in his own MIND! What mind he has left, that is. He's a textbook psychopath. Stay tuned, I'm sure we haven't heard the last of him unfortunately. We'll read about him in the Sun Sentinel someday.

Shamus, if you worked for only nine months for Execstar how did you figure you were making over 60k a YEAR?? You nned to get your facts straight about the timeline on that Atlanta, guy too. Your basics are right but, your details are NOT. I hope Vic can get the Tropic Air deal, he was the only sane person at Execstar, in my opinion. We are all better off with a Clyde "screwing the pooch" for all of us. By the way, where was the POI in all of this c-ap going down?
