Does anyone know of a decent way to get between these two airports aside from a basic cab? Or is that really the best option? Many thanks.

$15 in your uniform. Go down to baggage claim and find the Ground Transportation desk. Tell them you want to go to JFK. They will pick you up in a van.

You can also take NJ Transit from the EWR Airport station to NY Penn, transfer to the Long Island RR to Jamaica Station the Air Train to the various terminals.

State Shuttle no longer does the EWR-JFK route. PANYNJ has replaced them with ETS shuttle. The new fare is $25 with a stop at LGA on the way to JFK.

Airtrain, NJ rail, Path train, NYC subway, JFK Airtrain (or bus
It to save 5 bucks)....
