If the TA passes, then we go unlimited jumpseats for Alaska, Northwest, and Continental in June I believe. We then go unlimited for United and USAir on Jan 1st of 07. Does that include their regionals? I don't know.

Bye Bye--General Lee

Why only those airlines, GL?

This whole thread burns me. I agree with all -- the js is a privilege that must be respected and not abused. If you are js-ing offline than you owe everyone in the chain (gate agent to fa to capt, etc) a tremendous amount of manners, civility and gratitude. That means going through the js process as laid out by Mr. Lewshun (which by the way, was carved in the back of the Ten Commandments, Moses just didn't think to look on the back of the tablets). BUT -- yeah, here it comes, I have seen those few (I hope) who have no respect for that process or even for the airline they are js-ing on. It really chaffs me to see or hear about those dudes who hate jb for example, yet they still use us to get to/from work. Why? Ya think it's because jb has the best js policy in the industry?

Yes it happens too often that I am waiting for all of the customers to exit the jetbridge as an offline jumpseater walks by and after I say hello I am met with silence or some sort of "smirk." And what is our response at jb? Do we charge for jumpseats like AirTran? No. Do we limit the number? No. Do we take other airlines' flight attendants? Yes. Do we continue to offer the same level of service to jumpseaters that we offer to our customers? Yes. The system is definitely not fair (no whining or wankin' intended, just an observation).

It is an absolute shame that so many of us at jb avoid certain airlines because of how they have treated some of us in the past. The js is a valuable resource that every airline needs to ensure a healthy qol for its employees! Besides, we all know in this industry that KARMA IS A B!TCH.

Fantasy land.

Interesting... and amusing. Just got back from an NPA meeting where the leadership said, "We will NOT sign a deal that doesn't include CASS and unlimited jumpseats".

Maybe you’re right though - scope/70 seaters was supposed to be our line in the sand and didn't happen. Surely they could have muscled js out of the discussion.
Sounds reasonable to me. Yes, I realize that was tongue-in-cheek. What you don't realize is how reasonable that sounds to everyone else.

Jumpseats should not be a negotiating item.
