EMB 145 PIC for FS 2004 - if you have never used an Autopilot before - Flight Safety has a nice systems program, what company are you going to?

My sim partner and I used MS FLt. Sim. to practice profiles and callouts. It was better than sitting in front of the paper tiger.

buy the EMB-145 quick study guide by AvSoft. (www.avsoft.net) Helped me out alot with where everything is and what everythings connected to..etc...not sure how much it costs...but its worth it...

Don't study before indoc. You may think I'm being insincere, but they will teach you what they want you to learn in class. Trying to unlearn things will just make it harder.

Listen to a continuous loop of a "DING" sound. The sooner you can mentally drown out that sound the better off you'll be. The Taco Rocket gave me a DING on final the other day for absolutly no reason at all, no EICAS message, no light....nothing but a DING for the sake of dinging.......

Just remember to not randomly cancel everything on your PC or during a Line Check. They kinda don't like that.

Can someone explain to me why something as normal as a post flight shut down generates 3,000 warnings?! Can't that be inhibited at the gate or something?

You mean you haven't learned the ding deprogramming trick???

It is very similar to the cheat for Nintendo's Contra: up down up down left right select start.

Oh, I'm well aware of it. FADEC 8.0 makes it much easier. However, there are some captains that won't silence it, so it's either DING, DING, DING for 20 minutes or I'm constantly cancelling. Plus the new XRs are LOUD.

I cannot overemphasize the importance of relaxing during training. They'll teach you everything you need to know. DO NOT try to get too far ahead and worry about too much future material.

AT least it wasn't a "DING_DING_DING"

Just give the brakes a squeeze or two once the engines spin down below about 5% N2. It'll quickly bleed off the hydraulic pressure that gradually comes down and creates the random dings as the flight controls lose hydraulics. So instead of having multiple dings for that, you'll get one to cancel.

Or you could just do the ding cancel thing, which some folks might frown upon.

up up down down left right left right b a start....that was a sweet game

gives you less dings plus 30 lives

Hello, anyone know of any good things for training for the erj-145, would flight sim be helpful?
THanks
Show up with a great attitude, an open mind, and study everynight. Plus, "in accordance with system logic."

No, you just get a bunch of those during startup.
