Did the UC get any damage...what about the white bi-plane hanging in there? Is it still hanging?

The fire dept tried to kick Safety out of it. Eventually they were persuaded to let them stay.
Ceiling is collapsed, some holes in the roof. Most windows were blown out.The biplane stayed where it was. The 5 or 6 windows behind it stayed intact so it didnt get a direct blast of wind. I'm sure it was swingin though.

I love fishing. Too bad I only caught four. Thanks for the flames guys. I love flightinfo.

Awsome... now the ERAU guys will get to pay $150K for a 21K job...

Best wishes to the Flight Instructors and students put out by this tragedy!

Hang in there guy/gals.

...just looked at that new thread of pics. Man, and I thought I had problems the other day when we couldn't get the coffee to brew.

I'm guessing my old PQ card of 3-2-1 wasn't enough to fly in those conditions.:D

I am really sorry to hear about the tornado damage at Embry-Riddle. As an alumni myself I had to say that I had a great time at Riddle. Yes it was expensive and no it was not perfect (name any place that is), but I had some great times and made some lifelong friends. I was happy with MY CHOICE to attend Riddle and would choose to do so again even though I was broke and poor like most college students, CFIs, and first year regional pilots. I have had some great experiences as a pilot overseas and currently have good flying job now largely due to my education. I have friends from ERAU that are flying everything from regional jets to the U2 spy plane and a current Blue Angel pilot is a Riddle alumni. Truth be told, there have been many idiots that have come out of Riddle. But there have also been a lot of excellent pilots, engineers, mechanics and accident investigators as well. However, ERAU is certainly not the only place that produces great aviators......or idiots for that matter....just look at some of the posts on this site. But the kind of experience that we have at the flight schools, airlines, charter companies, etc. that WE CHOOSE to work for largely depends on our own indivudual attitudes.....bottom line. Good luck to everyone at Embry-Riddle and I wish the best to all affected.

I tried to find those facebook pictures, but all I found was a handful of ERAU kids with middle eastern names talking about death to Israel in these groups. Thats real comforting.

Hey good one there John Peni$kamp, you sure pulled one over on us.

Don't forget to mention how awesome and cool you are on Flightinfo at your next job interview.

Uhhhhh...? Are you firing me?

Not sure if those will work if you're not on facebook, but worth a try. I guess the guy who took them was a dispatcher or something, so he ramp access during the cleanup.

wow, that really sucks, a lot of bent metal down there.

Level 2 Tornado???? How can a level 2 tornado turn a Seminole into something the size of a dishwasher??

It didn't. semenholes are the size of a dishwasher to start with. Only most dishwashers don't have windows...and dishwashers will hold more weight.

I picked up the wing of a Cessna a couple days ago, and even though I was expecting it to be lighter than I previously thought.....I was AMAZED how light it was.

Anyone got #'s on the weight of a Cessna wing?

Sorry no numbers on the weight of a Cessna wing. I bet it is like less than a pound though.

you beat me to it

I am fully expecting letter in the mail saying something like this....."Oh my god! Dear alumni of ERAU! Please help us! Now it's time to reach out and write us a check from your fat regional pay to support our kids to follow your footsteps"

I wanted to be the first.
