FUK cloud dancer, the owner is a crooked scumbag. go to philair... oh, wait a tick

Concur... Phil is even more crooked. Are they even still in business? Come to think of it, there's not a single school aboard DAB that I'd give money too.

CDA is terrible - did one rating there and turned down the job offer after. Worked at Air America and loved it.

Looks like McKay and Doolittle survived the ordeal... I don't think those two halls can be brought down by anything! To all the current students...good luck this coming semester. If you are in the flight program, make sure you get reaccommodated, even if it means they allow you to get your flight ratings off campus, wherever you can.

What about the other dorms? What were they called the Student Village?? I remember it had Oconnor and Adams in it and a POS inconvience store that was never open. Did that make it through the storm? It seems like that might have been on the other side of campus so might be ok. But I bet that nice shiney engeering building probably got hit hard, cant remember the name of it though.

Since this is posted all over the forums, this comment seems more fitting here.

I HOPE THE INSURANCE COMPANIES FORCE RIDDLE AND ALL THESE OTHER SCHOOLS THAT GET HAMMERED TO $HIT every year by weather to HANGAR their airplanes, or they won't insure them.

Sounds good to me!

Haha enjoy the tuition hike!
You win the award for hatrer of the year, congrats

Heyas all,

Before you all start to cackle about what happened at ERAU, I'd like to remind everyone that plenty of folks livelyhoods are wrapped up in that school. Not just CFIs and students were affected, but mechanics, faculty and staff. You know, just everyday Joes with morgages, kids to feed and car payments to make.

I saw what happened at UNO and Tulane after Katrina, and I know it can take YEARS for an institution to recover from something like this, and it means a lot of potential hardship for a lot of people. Those schools had to fight tooth and nail for insurance payouts just like ERAU will.

Something to think about while you sip eggnog by the fire this holiday season...

Nu

Hangers are horrible places to put aircraft durring tornados/hurricanes! the doors blow in and cause eaven more damage. The only way to save the fleet is an evac, and you cant evac for tornados.

The aircraft that were hangared on our flightline in orlando during the hurricanes were actually damaged more than the ones on the ramp.. irony

eh, the insurance companies will delay but eventually cut a fat check, the smell of which will catch the attention of all the big light airplane manufacturers, in a couple months you'll hear them bragging about the "brand new fleet"...

wonder if they will bring in some planes from AZ, or take the opportunity to make some money off the sims

I'm hoping they'll bring some planes from Prescott and CAPT, but as for the sims.... no good. All the sims are moisture sensative and alot of humidity and water got into the sim building.... I don't know for sure but the MD 90 sim and the the 172, 172 glass and Seminole sims could have been victim to the water. Oh well.... lets hope Raul will pull a miracle out of his hat to save the sims..... (wow.... never heard I would say that). As for the a/c in the hangar... there was a cessna, the decathalon and the seneca. Parts of 881ER were found in the far east of the dirt parking lot. YIKES!

I can hear Kit Darby screaming about the "pending pilot shortage" now.

One puppy mill down, four to go. Go Tornados!

The less 300 wonder pilots we have clamoring for a job on a Shiny Regional Jet, the better this industry will be!

The less wonder a$$wipes, such as yourself, that we have in the industry, the better this industry will be.

You d!ck. What about the people who make their living off of teaching there...have some respect dude...

I've heard through the collegiate academic grapevine that they've already ordered new Cessnas for delivery by the Jan 10th start date...how many 172s can they have sitting in Wichita just waiting to be delivered?

What a toolbox.

Sorry for your loss guys, as much as you get a ribbing on this site, most of us are truly sorry for your loss. This sucks, hopefully they will figure out what to do with you guys.

Ditto... Horrible situation for everyone involved. Best of luck.

I was actually there with my crew when the storm hit.(spent Xmas Eve in wonderful DAB) We were eating at the Denny's close to RWY 16 before we had to fly out of there. It lasted all but 5-10min. When we departed out of there got a good look at the damage. Other than Riddle's flight line there were planes damaged by the terminal and a lot of damaged to some taxiway signs. Rwy 25R/7L were closed cause debri was everywhere...not to mention Hazmat cleaning up the fuel.

Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww you ate at that denny's?????

It's a thousand wonders there wasn't another tornado of a different nature if you ate there. You must have ordered a side of pepto.

You may see a one to two year span where Riddle won't be able to graduate flight students. In four to five years, the airlines will see an increase of pilots with personalities being hired. Once Riddle gets back on its feet, after five years, the airlines will see an inverse affect of the pilots it hires. BTW, how do I get an ERAU sticker for my flight bag?

Ha...yea we ate there....sucks it was the only damn thing open on Xmas day. Oh, and by the way, I had the french toast.

As for the sticker, get someone to send you one if you aren't going to be around the AZ or FL campus

As for the current students.... flight training may be postponed a couple weeks, with the insurance plan that we have and the close ties and hourly phone calls from the Piper and Cessna VP's and other flight schools, we'll have enough to get back up and full operational in less than a month and a half- two months. 30 planes were totalled, but 10 are fixable and planes are on the way. The "condemmed" buildings will hurt the look of the place, but they were on a a 5 year plan to be re-done anyway, so....we're alright.

From one Riddle alumnus.... thanks for everyone on all other forums and this one that offered to help....

...man, I just watched the video on WESH's site...ugh. What a pisser. The new MTC hangar looks FUBAR...well, it's new to me...wasn't built when I was there. Thank god (ironically) it was xmas...harldy anyone there.

Some one asked about the dorms...doolittle. Man, it'd take an F5 and friggen wrecking ball to bring down that beast. Ya love ta hate the "cell block" rooms. Ah good ole days.

Did the UC get any damage...what about the white bi-plane hanging in there? Is it still hanging?
