You need a history lesson if you REALLY believe that people in different countries don't have a "majority" belief structure that is very similar to other people from the same country, not to mention VASTLY different from the rest of the "civilized" world.

I guarantee you that MOST people in the Middle East believe that this is a benign crime, otherwise the penalties would be a lot stiffer as the legal system would react to the shock and outrage that SHOULD accompany such an event.

Individually I'm certain there are many people from that country that would never do such a thing, but I have NO intention of being immersed in a society that would think it was OK to sweep it under the rug or minimally punish someone as if they had shoplifted a tennis bracelet.

To me, such a culture is sick, degenerated, and twisted. If that makes me racist, then so be it, I'll be sure to hang the sign on the door...

In all fairness to say "these people are ALL the same" is a gross generalization. However, I do believe that the vast majority are the same.

This disgusting crime will be brushed under the carpet.

Please spare me the definitions. You can use big words. If I don't know the definition, I'll look them up on my own.

Also, Hair-on-Fire, I believe my original comment falls more under the lines of "prejudice". Would you like a definition or can you find that one on your own?

Don't be fooled. These people are all the same. Some are just richer than others. Plus, many parts of the Middle East consider homosexual relations between men and younger males/boys "normal". Yeah, okay. You can keep your money, I'll keep living in this silly little country called the USA. According to them, we have no morals. Don't you watch the news? When ah-ma-deen-a-jod spoke at Columbia, he said there are NO homosexuals in his part of the middle east.

And yeah, it would be pretty amusing to see the uproar if a couple 100% USA caucasian christian crackers raped ANYBODY from the middle east.

Ha! Yes, I believe the Iranians hang their homosexuals. However, the Middle Eastern definition of that word is different than the Western definition of the word, but it's all hair splitting. It's unfortunate that it happened. The incident could have happened here as I'm sure it has. The only difference is the reaction, and in my opinion, that makes all the difference.

To all you guys who passed judgement on this case BEFORE it was concluded....you will be happy to know that the two adults charged have been convicted and sentenced to 15 years in prison. The minor charged is still in the process at the juvenile court.

No wonder Richard Jewell did'nt have a chance.
