Had some elec. prob 10 mins out of ROC. Pax interivewed after the landing said all the lights went out in the cabin...

Crew PA said they were circling over the lake running the check lists (90 mins???)

Crew declared an emergency (if the news is to be believed), etc...

Plane landed uneventfully.

What's the scoop?

I think the real story here is that there are ELECTRIC JETS!!! When did this happen? Is it a hybrid? Does Honda make them? What's the scoop?

Electric Jets...Airbus A320... Happened this afternoon dude.

And it was Jet Blue, since that was going to be your next question.

There was apparently a non-compatible MCDU revision loaded, which caused a General Protection Fault and Exception XD33.8 in the aircraft's reading lights. The crew had to do a CTRL-ALT-DEL while holding the lav flush button in before the plane would allow them to extend the landing gear!

Oh, come on....give us a break! We all know that the A320 is one of the most modern airliners built to date(with the exception of all the Boeing aircraft ever made ;) )...so, of course, they have Windoze XP. CTRL-ALT-DEL only brings up the login screen or task manager! They must've had to do a cold boot.....ya know, press the reset button located in the left main gear well. :D

That is priceless!

First of all, glad it turned out fine. Furthermore....

They probably decided to circle over the lake to avoid having the plane fly itself into a forest of trees.

Now thats funny dude!!!!!!!!!:)

I hate it when that happens! Good thing I have really long arms.

maybe the flux capacitor wasn't producing the necessary 1.1 jiggawatts of power needed to lower the gear...

The latest news articles indicate that a few CB's had popped when they were in-range, so they circled for an hour or so over the lake to run the checklists....

Man, those must have been SOME breakers.

Yikes.
