Psy,

Knowing what I do/have over the years about Executive Jet Management (the aircraft management arm of Executive Jet Aviation) if you are allowed to commute, you purchase your own tickets because you will have an assigned base. You want to live somewhere else, you live somewhere else you live somewhere else and its up to you to be at work when and where you are suppose to.

Nothing like the Netjets gateway system where you have scheduled work days and only god, and maybe the CMH/Casino, know where you assigned airplane is gonna be.

Oh okay but this says it right on the ad.

Executive Jet Management, a Berkshire Hathaway, Inc. company and industry leader
in aircraft management, maintenance and charter services is looking for Hawker
400XP pilots to join our flight operations department. This position will be under FAR
part 135 and fly a 7 on 7 off schedule. Pilots can commute to base location for this
account.

Must meet minimum qualification for PIC position:

Hawker 400XP Type Rating desired

Must meet minimum qualification for SIC position:

Executive Jet provides a competitive salary package, including 401(k), medical, dental,

"Pilots CAN commute to the base location for this account" doesn't say anything about providing transportation. It simply doesn't say "Must live within XXX minutes of XXX airport."

Big difference. Not the same thing as Netjets, not at all, as your previous, misinformed, post states.

EJM has both full managed and charter managed A/C.

Full managed your pay, schedule, everything comes from EJM. You are basically an employee of EJM. You cannot turn down trips.

Charter managed, the airplane is on EJM's certificate, but EJM must call owner for permission to charter the airplane for specific trips, these trips can be turned down for any reason. Pilots are hired, payed, and managed by owner of aircraft and pilots generally consider themselves an employee of aircraft owner rather than EJM.

EJM does alot of trips for NetJets owners, and yes, they are first in line when NetJets cannot fulfill a commitment due to broke airplane or whatever. These trips are flown 135 by EJM.

I would guess that the ad for the EJM pilot is a charter managed aircraft that has that schedule worked out among its current pilots, as far as the travel goes, who knows, I guess the only way to find out is to inquire into the job.

psysicx, thank you for not asking about the pay and QOL.

The current ad for a beechjet pilot says 7/7 schedule and can commute.

RANT MODE ON
Hey numbskull,

Don't ask an open ended question and then sharpshoot people for trying to help you out. Drop a effin dime in a phone and call the effin company. If you are going to be a lazy sumbich and ask question after question on this board, while contributing nothing of value, then expect nothing but misleading and false information from me from now on!

RANT MODE OFF

The schedule and the commuting are subject to the owner's needs, requirements and the contract with EJM. It only applies for QUALIFIED pilots that actually fly for a living.

I think the position that was advertised with the 7 and 7 and being allowed to live where you want was for the planned scheduled service out of Chicago. I think that the new TA that the International Brotherhood put out has put a stop to that.

Folks, it's my belief that the ad being discussed in this thread is for a new EJM "float" operation.

EJM had a float operation for years up until about 2 years ago. They operated a fleet of Falcons that were dedicated to backup lift for NetJets. The float was disbanded when the need seemed to dry up. Why it's being started again now, and how the scope clause of the new NJA TA will effect those plans, I don't know.

While the comments on the typical flying job at EJM have been mostly on the mark, they don't apply to the float job being advertised. The float is a different animal from the rest of EJM's managed accounts.
