Haven't they heard that Doug Parker is consolidating the industry? Oh well, there goes the raise. We can't have costs above those of new entrants, right?

The good times lasted for about 50 days this time.

Their second Airbus will carry the name, "The Spirit of Skybus"

I have great memories of flying on Eastern as a kid. Loved the A300-B4s and 757 "whisper jets."

Key questions will be:

1. How will you attract pilots when 3 majors, Spirit, Jet Blue and SWA are hiring? Beyond a potential quick upgrade for early joiners, why would someone with experience consider a start-up like Eastern vs a slot at a legacy with so many upcoming retirements?

2. Will pilots need to pay for their A320 type? That would be a deal breaker IMO.

3. How will a new Eastern secure slots and gates at any of the major airports? Just look at how Virgin America has been constrained...

1. Relaxed Visa requirements for ICAO-qualified pilots from India, etc. to come during "pilot shortage"
2. Sure, eventually everyone will after this "shortage" passes
3. Eric Holder, aka Robin Hood take from the weak and give to the strong

You kidding they probably have a thousand applications already. People don't even know what they're paying or work rules but they see that airbus with the sweet eastern logo and they're in. Just want to get in on that ground floor and get rich . Just like the dopes that went to skybus. Hey here's 50000 shares in our worthless piece of ********************e company. oooh oohh ooh im in! Plus all the guys with records and dwi's and sodomy of barnyard animals will be applying.
