I took a prehire check ride with Earl and left part of my seat belt hanging out of the side of the 172 by accident. It was banging away and Earl was screaming at me all at the same time! Then he told me to land on the taxi way. I said, "you want me to land where?" The screaming continued! LOL! Needless to say, I wasn't hired, but I got a job flying twin otters soon after. I can't really say I knew the softer side of Earl, but at least he gave me my first shot. God bless you and your family Earl!
