RGGMIA shows MEM still a destination once a day. Looks like we have about 15 RJ flights/weekday out of MIA. XNA will be ending soon, and with the future TSA service that brings AE RJs down to 8 daily flights to:

TLH (2)
CLT (1)
MEM
SDF
GSO
CVG
CMH
I have not seen the MEM MIA route still in the bid packet. That was always a good trip. Long overnight in MEM, go to MIA, CLT turn, long MIA overnight on the beach. I miss those trips!

I wish I could be there to see the crew room with TSA in there. I bet the MIA guys will have a warm welcome party for them haha. That is if they can even find the crew room.

It seems the Eagle E135 is being replaced with 50 seats. Is MIA just a E135 base/hub? If so, why is there no (Eagle) internal 50 seat replacement?

Yea, I miss the EYW overnights (Piedmont). The days of the Florida Flying Club is greatly missed.

Billy...

You got any interest in mainline? I still can't decide... But I have my in-tor-veeeyooo tommorow.

Also have an interview with ATI on the 1st. Maybe I'll go fly jurassic jets for a while.

Just curious what was up with you these days.

Frank

Starting in June TSA will be doing:

· Charlotte – 3 round trips
· Indianapolis – 1 round trip
· Norfolk – 1 round trip
· Pittsburgh – 1 round trip
· Richmond – 1 round trip
.

From what I can tell from the AA electronic schedule, the TSA reductions in STL include: discontinue DEN (that happened this month,) and then reductions to TUL, ATL (this becomes mostly CHQ,) and BNA. I wouldn't be surprised to see MEM reduced or elimnated as well.

(second hand) word from the flight management is we will not have a MIA crew base, but will instead use our ultra effecient system of double deadheads pioneered on UAX.

I have been through MIA a lot at Eagle, never seen 1 of the 135s, ever. All 140s, and a few 145s

The flights I looked up on flightaware all came back as E135s ... weird.
E135 is the identifier. Your theory of the bigger conspiracy was just shot to hell.

From our MEC today, not sure that anything will come of it, but looks like they are not going to just let this slide by without some type of fight.

As indicated in our earlier blast email, the Eagle MEC has recently learned that American Eagle management is planning to transfer existing American Eagle flying from our MIA hub to American Connection. Despite the fact that management tells us our flying will actually grow, this move is extremely serious.

In July, 2002, American Eagle management advised ALPA that it intended to sell 14 Embraer 145 aircraft to Trans States Airlines. ALPA grieved this action on the basis that it constituted a transfer of operation as defined by our collective bargaining agreement. The arbitration board denied ALPA’s claim that this action constituted a transfer of operations. That decision indicates that a transfer of “operations” would require more than a transfer of aircraft. Obviously, an example of something more than just aircraft would be a transfer of aircraft plus routes to another carrier. Now, six years later, our management tells us that they will transfer our routes as well.

ALPA’s legal staff will be looking closely at all of the facts related to this transaction and will submit a report to the Eagle MEC at their next meeting (April 30th – May 2nd). There, we will discuss all options for protecting our jobs.

It is important to remember that this is entirely a problem of management’s creation. After having transferred our aircraft to Trans States they have failed to provide proper staffing at Eagle. The Eagle MEC has made numerous recommendations concerning improving pilot staffing, advancing career expectations, growth and successful pilot recruitment. However, management has sadly lacked the vision to grow our airline and position it for a successful future. As a result, Eagle management has missed the opportunity to perform the “additional” Chicago and Dallas flying as well as our current operations in Miami.

The company’s announcement could not come at a more critical point when AMR is studying a divestiture of American Eagle which in and of itself creates a quagmire of scope issues. This diversion of American Eagle flying to American Connection will most certainly impact our current amendment round negotiations. Please take the time to let your chief pilots know how this shift impacts you and how you feel about the continuing loss of Eagle flying to competitor airlines.
