Yeah I agree, MIA in the summer was not one of my favorite things to do, looks like we will lose it from June 1st through October 1st. I dont mind too much. Good luck to the TSA guys, enjoy the beach if you stay at the Sherry.

I really doubt this will just be a June-October change. I am guessing TSA will be put on these MIA routes for now, and expand to the rest of the MIA RJ flying after that. Hell, they will probably have a MIA crewbase by Jan 09!

I already think that it is already all of the MIA RJ flying. I do like these MIA trips, close to 8 hours of pay for 2 legs. Only time will tell.

Starting in June TSA will be doing:

· Charlotte – 3 round trips
· Indianapolis – 1 round trip
· Norfolk – 1 round trip
· Pittsburgh – 1 round trip
· Richmond – 1 round trip

Im sure we do more MIA flying such as MEM, SDF, CMH, etc. But we will see how long that lasts.

You are right, there are a few more of them. We do not do MEM MIA anymore however.

RGGMIA shows MEM still a destination once a day. Looks like we have about 15 RJ flights/weekday out of MIA. XNA will be ending soon, and with the future TSA service that brings AE RJs down to 8 daily flights to:

TLH (2)
CLT (1)
MEM
SDF
GSO
CVG
CMH

I have not seen the MEM MIA route still in the bid packet. That was always a good trip. Long overnight in MEM, go to MIA, CLT turn, long MIA overnight on the beach. I miss those trips!

I wish I could be there to see the crew room with TSA in there. I bet the MIA guys will have a warm welcome party for them haha. That is if they can even find the crew room.

It seems the Eagle E135 is being replaced with 50 seats. Is MIA just a E135 base/hub? If so, why is there no (Eagle) internal 50 seat replacement?

Yea, I miss the EYW overnights (Piedmont). The days of the Florida Flying Club is greatly missed.

Billy...

You got any interest in mainline? I still can't decide... But I have my in-tor-veeeyooo tommorow.

Also have an interview with ATI on the 1st. Maybe I'll go fly jurassic jets for a while.

Just curious what was up with you these days.

Frank

From what I can tell from the AA electronic schedule, the TSA reductions in STL include: discontinue DEN (that happened this month,) and then reductions to TUL, ATL (this becomes mostly CHQ,) and BNA. I wouldn't be surprised to see MEM reduced or elimnated as well.

(second hand) word from the flight management is we will not have a MIA crew base, but will instead use our ultra effecient system of double deadheads pioneered on UAX.

I have been through MIA a lot at Eagle, never seen 1 of the 135s, ever. All 140s, and a few 145s
