Europe is socialist..... the free market in America must remain unfettered....

Obviously free market concepts do NOT work in every industry....Banking/Wall Street and dismally poor in Aviation. Here's to FULL re-regulation of the airline industry and pre-1978 wages adjusted for inflation. No more regional airlines at all, all of them folded into thier mainline parent. ATP's for ALL new hires and both seats typed in every aircraft on property. I could careless that the above would result in $1500 trancon tickets to go visit aunt betty or micky mouse or that it would result in 70% load factors. What it would also result in is PROFITABLE companys, comfortable airplanes, better passenger service and safer sky's.

I really need to quit drinking so early....none of this sh*t will happen because of the short term attention span of the american populace. we will move onto the next big news story next week, none of this will be remembered, no changes will come of it and Billy Bob and his toothless wife will be on Orbitz and Travelocity next week to find the $198 r/t ticket.

In the big scheme of things killing 50 people is not that big of a deal as far as the bean counters are concerned. Compared to the ratio of Doctors/medical malpractice deaths we should have killed 10,250 in plane crashes last year! 700,000 doc's and 120,000 preventable/mistake deaths...apply that ratio to how many of us 121 bus drivers there are....50 is a drop in the bucket. The bean counters in some dark back room know this and THAT is why there will not be ANY changes come from Colgan.

Any of you think the changes in paragraph 1 should come to fruition then we need to start killing over 10,000 a year and then change will come, until then it's an acceptable statisical loss/risk.

Rant over....

Your high regard for costumers that pay your salary is shared, I find, by many in the airline industry. Makes me thankful that I can own my own plane and determined that even for ten times the cost I will fly myself and my family rather than experience your arrogance.

I think we all have a very high regard for costumers. It's the customers that suck.

Now go fly your airplane and don't hurt yourself.

Maybe you'd like to hire a professional pilot?

There are plenty available, and at bargain basement prices I hear.

Love,

YKW

P.S. - I am available to run spell-check for you as well as to help you form coherent sentences. Unfortunately, I don't believe you will be able to afford my services.

Words and ideologies can really throw some people off. Which off the sectors and industries deregulated under the concept of "free market" have actully been successful? Free market impedes capital investments, a trait common to each of these industries. Infrastructure UNDERINVESTMENT has all but crumbled our economy. They simply can't afford it. Isn't that tied to the decline in spending power of the US consumer? The basic engine for free market?

Should I hire an airline professional, may I insist on a demonstration of stall recovery technique? If I do board another airline I hope the pilot is able to spell and moniter airspeed at the same time or at least prioritize tasks in a reasonable manner.
