So far unofficial answer from LA FISDO is this:

If jumpseater is NOT on duty, nor traveling for duty, and it's been 8hrs and their BAC is under .04% (or your company policy limitations), then he/she can partake in consumption of limited quanties of alcohol.

thanks for that... 90 percent of most 121 carriers, like wn, are more restrictive than fsdo rules. just a tip, if you are on wn, and you filled out the triplicate form, don't drink.

jehtplane.... the acronym ACM, stands for additional crew member, up front or back.

We're talking a couple of drinks, not breaking out the beer bong and doing flaming shots:rolleyes: . . . Man, you must not hold your liquor very well!

"I won't even drink, unless I'm in my own house, in a padded room, wearing a straitjacket, a shock collar, attended to by a physician, and with 7 days of vacation ahead . . . . ".

Ah........now that is well done.

Drinking as a jumpseater??????????? The Duke covered this in The Sands of Iwo Jima..."Life is tough. But it's a lot tougher if you are stupid." Sgt Stryker

I know LA is for Lower Alabama, but what's a FISDO? Feeling Inebriated Since Drinking Onboard.

At my first airline, Pan American World Airways.......

You're a very lucky soul to have flown for the best airline ever!

As for drinking - unless the company's FOM such as TWA states you can have a cold one DON'T Do IT!!

Baja.

...still laughing my *** off. I can't believe this thread even exists. I have a great idea for "flying horses". The next time you jumpseat... hold a bud light in one hand, and the jumpseat form in the other. When the captain says "welcome aboard", take a sip, and see if he is bothered or not. If he is, no go, if not, you're golden.

You are considered an additional crew member if you are actually sitting in the cockpit.

No no no no...Additional crew member counts whether you're in the cockpit or cabin. Are we really in need to ask this question??

On another note, damn nice avatar.. I almost forgot the subject:p
