Whats the deal with everything lately? XJT losing 69 airplanes, Mesaba being cut in half, FlyI closing it's doors... all announced within the past few weeks. Is this a backlash from the majors trimming the fat, or other factors? Does all this flying stand to be replaced by other carriers?

I'm definately no expert on the industry and wouldn't even say I'm familiar so I'm just soliciting thoughts......

It's the result of no brand scope. As a result, all flying should be replaced by a lower cost carrier.

This is actually happening everywhere, not just the airlines. We live in hard times right now. Americans live for today and don't plan for tomorrow. Well, tomorrow is here.
