So where would you take your honeymoon at? We are not going to have much time off and would like to either stay in the US or Mexico. Any ideas? August 07 date.
Any beach area with as large of a hotel room as you can afford.
Hawaii, cozumel, Upper Gulf coast side of Florida, even San Diego is nice.
If you want more non coastal places, any large city or National Park you'd like to explore. Many people take a cruise to Alaska. Depends on what you and she like or want, Hawaii is probably my choice for most romantic.
We went to a full-service lodge in the boundary waters. It was great, no TV reception, no FM radio, one AM station. I brought along my little shortwave radio for news. We drove (thank goodness for XM radio and 4WD on our truck!), there's not much in the way of airline service up there. The closest you can get is DLH, and then it's a 3 hour drive north from there. We just wanted to get away, and that was the ticket!
Going to Mexico for my honeymoon next week. Found an all-inclusive place on travelocity. Its in Puerto Aventuras, which is just south of Playa Del Carmen/Cozumel. We wanted to go someplace warm, warm water and where we didn't have to worry about bring a ton of cash (because we don't have much)
Great Info! Wish I had seen it sooner. Just married a pilot...7 day Alaskan Cruise was canecelled...not surprised. Tough to get time off. At least we had a few days together afterwards. Wish I had thought to go to Mexico. Cabo San Lucas has some really great places to dive, would have been fun.
Congratulaions on your marriage Shake. Looks like Fry is all alone now. Ohhh..... Cheapest place I stayed in LV was The Westward Ho. Closer to oldtown LV, not a big place at all. In fact, it is small and a bit "old". Suite style...cheap, big hotdogs sold next door. If you want to spend a bit more, my two favorites are the Bellagio and Paris. Wynn is a newer one, but I don't know the prices.
Good $1 blackjack at Sahara, if you like to play. $20 can last a long time and you also get some watered down drinks at the same time. Have fun and let us know how it goes.
Definitely do the Bellagio's Dancing waters after dark-very romatntic, but make sure you get to see it before Midnight, it closes shortly thereafter, and you'll want to see it at least two times in a row, it's breathtaking.
I've seen free lounge acts that are incredibley professional, polished and very good at some of the larger casinos. There's the light show on freemont street, the Rio has a 15 minute Mardi Gras show suspended from the ceiling at different times throughout the evenig, and also has the best seafood buffet-about $20 each, and Buzio's, my favorite seafood restaurant-but it's kinda expesive.
