Make more than everyone else, or atleast ASA????
Yes their W2 at the end of the year most likely is higher, but lets break that down. First off they are paid less more often....huh you ask?
Well they get min day, duty rigs, and higher block lines. They are much more effecient in the scheduling dept. otherwise the company would be paying them to do nothing (ie 3 hr airport appreciation breaks)
I would like to see a 70 seat capt's W2 for a capt at ASA vs Skywest that is on the same yearly rate at their respective company. Also would have to fly the same hours for the year. I would venture to guess that the ASA capt is paid more, unless he worked less hours which is most likely the case.
As for the 50 seat capt's not only is the Skywest pilot paid more per hr they also fly more per year. Therefore they easily make more on these rates, but they don't fly just the 50 so it is kind of a moot point.
Any body care to throw up some accurate numbers, enquiring minds would like to know????

Year six at XJT

Pay
Perdiem

About 100K with an average of 95 hours pay per month and about 80 hours average block.

Pay
Perdiem
Profit Sharing

About 105K

It is way too much work to make 100K. I would rather average about 90 hours pay and 80 hours block. I was trying to time out for the year but since I'm leaving, that won't happen. As far as FO pay goes, SKYW FO's make more than XJT FO's. XJT and SKYW CA's probably can make about the same amount of money give or take a couple grand.

ASA 6th yr Ca

pay
per diem
profit sharing
on reserve

About 65k

I think this board is a starting to tilt....

great website, hope more people fill it out

OK not that we don't like to brag about our pay.....BUT I am trying to get an ACCURATE idea of Skywest vs ASA capt W2 at the same yearly rate and same hrs flown......If that's possible!?!

Skywest

4th year captain, but first month on the RJ. First half of year on E120.
Includes Per Diem and bonuses.

Year to date gross 42.5k. That's with last quarter's bonus yet to be posted.
With raise to RJ, probably finish around 80k at the end of the year.

Forgot to add that the year was spent about half on reserve and half as a line holder.

Good thing that ALPA speaks for the SkyWest pilots.
