does size matter

for the guys who fly the 737NG does the size of your flightcase matter. I got done with a trip last night and mentioned to my FO that I need a new flightcase. He said make sure it fits the 737. I wanted one of the wider ones 8 inch or so but what is the widest I can get.

You know what they say it is not the length but the GIRTH.

Since the company put manuals on CD and the Jepps stay on the plane, I started carrying a paper bag (for sandwiches). Seriously, anything bigger than standard is awkward to drop in the slot.
