Does Continental airlines hire simulator instructor from the outside?

No, all the Sim Instructors are Flight Instructors from the line. They do have off the street Ground Instructors that do initial FTD training.

DAL does. They are hired though DGS.

Continental instructors are hired within the pilot group as a reward after they make it into Union leadership and sell their brothers.
