Does anyone know what the UAL min reqs will be?

If what you are doing isn't working try a different path. Have you tried Emerald Consulting? They seem to have had success in helping potential candidates with the hiring process.
Everything listed as a requirement is just a box to check, a filtering process. In 3 years the regionals will be hiring anyone who hasn't had multiple felony convictions within the last 3 years. the majors are not requiring any PIC because the quickest legacy newhire upgrade is probably a decade into the future, plenty of time to mold the candidate. At this time the selection will focus on the personality and quality of the candidate, PIC requirement will just limit the selection pool, hence the lack if requirement. Competitive experience levels will be measured by the volume and quality of your applicant peers.

That won't open up a thing. Min requirements have nothing to do with what they will be looking for.
Tell that to a few thousands pilots who now meet the requirements to apply when previously they didn't. I think it did "open it up a bit."

If you're saying the company will ignore their apps so it's futile to apply, I guess time will tell. At least they've got a shot at it.

I'm not saying the mins does not open the door to apply, I am saying the mins are just that mins. It does not open the door to be accepted when you are competeing against folks with much more experience. Why would it?

The first wave (in this case mostly all hired unitl May) is all about the level of the internal contacts helping someone. Plain and simple.

I know that is rough to hear, but it's true.

Make something happen, that is the only way. This may be really offensive but also true, if those 14 years in the military were not as a pilot.... they are not going to make that much of a difference. Although I think they should make a difference... it shows you have many qualities they desire, even of their basic employees.

Find some internal help...knock on doors.... it works.
 
Hired by UAL 5 years ago with 12000 hrs , 8000 or so jet pic , 4 type ratings , Bachelors Degree and NO help or recommendation

It can be done without help as long as you have competitive hours.
What's competitive TODAY is to be seen

Typically the old CAL way was as following
1) intern
2) son/daughter of mgt personal or someone in CP office/ training dept
3) son/daughter of scab
4) son/daughter of someone with 900+ hour sick time in bank
5) willingness to cross picket line and a "yes" man
6) owns kneepads
7) split tail
8) minority
9) 10 plus letters of rec from any of the above
10) everyone else

I'm sure the new UAL way will be the same.
