Any of you SOCAL guys know if there is any truth to this:
The shuttle driver at the FBO in VNY hauls us to the Airtel. On the way we pass these colorfully painted warehouse type buildings. I inquired and the cat says that's where they film some (?) percent of the adult videos.

It's not a rumor at VNY. "Debbie Does the Western Hemisphere" sells many more copies than "Jaws" or "Spiderman". Depending on which LAWA plan goes into effect, some/all of those hangars have to be returned to an aviation use.

If you think it's great to fly for these places, certain outfits don't pay their pilots much and require they share hotel rooms. You get to enjoy Motel 6 during flight training, you pay for meals. One outfit even requires their stars to buy their own alcohol.

Not many of the actors get $2000 per day. Those wages are more likely in a strip club in tips. Most places only pay their on-camera personalities $40 per hour to a max of $400 per day. The 'riggers' and camera pukes on the hard core sites get a lot more than the actors. I'm not sure which is harder, pretending to have fun on camera, or not laughing as the camera man.

Yes, I know a lot more about the porn industry than I ever wanted. No, you won't find me in a video series, pay-per-view website, or pin-up shots. I don’t have my own line of clothing, perfumes, toiletries, or silicon enhancements, nor plastic models of body parts sold in fine and questionable establishments everywhere. Pamela and I have chosen distinctly separate career paths. Pamela also rakes in a lot more dough than I do.

I've flown a few porn stars around before.. Of course, I had no idea who they were until my FO said... "hey, you know who those chicks are back there?!"...yea, that's the ticket... I had NO CLUE!

At that point...their just another person. Don't get me wrong....I had my fantasies during flight about what they were going to come up and say to me and what would happen then...but....alas...it never did...

I would imagine that the big studios such as wicked and vivid charter aircraft if they don't own them.The owners are making so much money its crazy.All of the big studios are in Chatsworth in the valley.The girls make a couple of grand a day and the guys make a couple of hundred unless they do gay films.There are a few guys making bank such as Ron Jermey and Peter North.The reason I know this was a documentry was on HBO.More then half the gay film stars are straight.Most of the guys and girls are drug addicts of some sort.Ron Jermey was a special ed teacher before he started doing films,definitly weird.Most due it because its easy money among other enjoyments.Does anybody know hard its to get on with Larry Flint of Playboy.Are there flight departments good or do they treat pilots bad.Most of the Playboy pilots I have seen are old.
