Newark can sink into the ocean for all I care!![]()
But if you are concerned about money i think that is the wrong thing to be concerned about. get your time then get out and get some money...
I want the Q400...growth is good i think. But if you are concerned about money i think that is the wrong thing to be concerned about. get your time then get out and get some money...All i want to some set work rules so I'm not stuck repoing on my last day in the middle of the night.. And quit calling me in the middle of the night scheduling!!!! I've already had 10 beers and I am unable to fly!!!!
I care - any growth is good. Don't care too much for pinnacle's head hancho, but I welcome the growth. ...and lets face it, there will be lots of it.
My only concern is money. If the pay is above industry standard, I'll be happy. I'd be able to build my time and count the days before I take off for greener pastures on a more livable wage.
As for the union, well, I'm torn about it. It is still a regional. Name one example where a union transformed a regional into something other than a regional - $hi7 with a magazine is still $hi7. Again, only concern is money.
My 2 cents.
Umm XJT is following the Independance game plan, that did not work.

WOW...haven't heard that one yet, and like TNPILOT said, what does that have to do with XJT's contract?
Ditto....
Things that are duly obvious to the most casual observer are not within some peoples grasp.....This is called natural selection.....
Oh.....they aren't "following in IND footsteps either....They are BLAZING their own trail trail... Out of the 69 airframes removed from CO's fleet, 44 were XR....the longrange variant. This will be a good Point to point aircraft like ONT to BOI, OMA. Something that the CRJ 200 that Chataqua brought CANNOT do like IAH to MSP, COS and PHX that the XR did well. CO put the 200 on those routes, taking weight penelties that the XR would not have done. Also XJT has started and is doing quite well at is a thing called CHARTER, with XM satellite radio in ever seat back AND they are BOOKED SOLID. Something IND NEVER attempted. 10 airames went to Delta, the ramaining are going to the point to point flying.
Also, CO is INCREASING the number of blockhours flown at XJT.....
But what does all of this have to do with XJT having a good contract....Their GROUP has SPINE....
Oh yea...one last thing PROP....engage brain before speaking out of turn...or at all for that matter..

You sound like you know what you are talking about. The charter game plan is nothing short of genious. It seems as though the numbers will support the business plan and ultimately keep the planes flying and the pilots employed. I still have a lot of doubts about the point to point flying going against a discount carrier (Soutwest on many of those routes right?).
In the past RJ's fit the bill in a cost plus structure feeding passengers to major hubs. As I understand it the useful mission of the 50 seat RJ is shrinking for two reasons.
#1 Passenger loads continue to rise, bringing larger airplanes (170, 175, CRJ900, 737 stop me when I am wrong....) into the mix to carry the available passengers.
#2 Shorter haul routes are going to be ran on large, quiet, efficient turbo props again. (ARGH!)
I will not doubt that the point to point game plan is better than Indys. In addition I have a bunch of friends at express jet and I wish them and yourself only luck and success. The reality is that I have concerns over the long term profitability of competing in a cost war with a discount carrier.
