Fair Use:

The A330 will feature 34 full flat-bed seats with direct aisle access in BusinessElite, 32 extra-legroom seats in Economy Comfort and 227 Economy seats. The international aircraft will feature in-flight Wi-Fi and industry leading in-flight entertainment with a library of more than 1,000 on-demand options, as well as standard 110v power, modern interiors with LED lighting, and extra-capacity overhead bins.
Airbus A321
The 30 A321s will expand Delta's existing fleet of 126 A320-family domestic aircraft. Delta's first three A321s are scheduled for delivery in the first quarter of 2016, with 12 more due in that year. The remaining 15 jets are scheduled for 2017.

Delta Announces Order for 40 Airbus Aircraft
Airline continues fleet renewal to improve profitability and customer experience while maintaining capacity discipline

ATLANTA, Sept. 4, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Delta Air Lines (DAL) today announced plans to purchase 40 Airbus aircraft for delivery between 2015 and 2017. The order, which comprises 10 international widebody A330-300 and 30 large domestic narrowbody A321 jets, is the latest step in Delta's prudent fleet renewal to enhance profitability while diligently managing capacity.

"This Airbus agreement is another opportunistic fleet transaction for Delta in which we acquire economically efficient, proven-technology aircraft," said Richard Anderson, Delta's chief executive officer. "These A330s and A321s will provide tremendous flexibility for Delta to optimally manage our capacity over the next five years while further improving the flight experience for our customers and returns for our shareholders.
"Disciplined capital deployment is a cornerstone of Delta's comprehensive financial plan," said Paul Jacobson, Delta's chief financial officer. "These Airbus aircraft will generate free cash flow and improve our return on invested capital from the time they enter service."

Airbus A330-300

The 10 A330-300 aircraft will augment Delta's existing fleet of 32 A330s. The first A330 delivery is scheduled for spring of 2015, with three additional airplanes scheduled for that year, four in 2016, and the final two in 2017.
Delta will be the first airline to operate the enhanced 242-metric ton A330-300, which offers additional payload capacity and range. Delta will use the aircraft's versatility to optimize its Pacific and Atlantic networks.
These aircraft will be powered by General Electric CF6-80E1 engines. Delta currently operates similar GE CF6 engines on more than 60 widebody aircraft.

Delta's A321 will be equipped with CFM56-5B engines produced by CFM International, a joint venture of General Electric Co. and Snecma of France. Delta operates more than 200 aircraft in its fleet today with CFM56 engines, including all Airbus narrowbody aircraft. The A321s will also feature wingtip sharklets, which will provide up to 4 percent improvement in fuel efficiency.
The Airbus A321 will have 20 First Class seats, 22 extra-legroom seats in Economy Comfort and 148 seats in the Economy cabin. Every A321 will feature in-flight Wi-Fi, industry leading in-flight entertainment with live satellite TV and on-demand options, and standard 110v power. The A321 will also offer Economy cabin seats that are among the widest in the industry.

Hey Red, 10 extra widebodies helps. Where's the mysterious widebody order you ask? No parking of widebodies either stated. 30 A321s ain't bad either....added to the 100 739ERs that are replacing some (not all) of the 757s and older 320s.

Poor little FO GL,

Giving out to foreign carriers pilots because their airlines are taking jobs away from Americans....while Delta feeds their millions to the French with Airbus orders.

Poor little FO GL...Emirates will order 200+ 777Xs in the coming launch season supporting hundreds of thousands of good ole American jobs....yet the little fella will spin it to Lucille at the iHop in Flint.

Poor little FO GL ...at least Bubba flies American.

Back to what you do best....obeying the skippers orders.

Airbus said many of the A321s for Delta will be assembled in Mobile, Alabama, a facility the company is building to gain a marketing edge with U.S. buyers.

Ahahaha! The A321s will probably be built in Mobile, AL! And your poor little FO rants are hysterical. Looks like more planes means more upgrades. And, I have zero chance of flying to Damascus, Beirut, Tehran, or Lahore, where certain people really don't like us. Watch out for broomsticks fv! You might like that, though.... Enjoy!

Great news and great that some of those Euro-pean planes will be made in the US-of-A in the great state of Alabama!

Still a poor little FO GL

Maybe you can visit the factory when you go down 'Bama way on the DC9 upgrade in five years time!

Poor little FO GL will be ...a lil fifty-ish yr old by then

Wow, still trying the "poor little FO" schtick.... Poor? I doubt that. I do great and at the same time I don't have to go to Khartoum. There are places you go that nobody could pay me enough to see. I'll leave that to people like you, who look the other way at local injustices (laws), just to work in the Sandpit.

As far as Airbus goes, I bet the financing part wasn't done by the ExIm bank at a discount for "poor nations" like UAE.....??? Everyone can make deals with the manufacturers, but how can the UAE take advantage of a program made for poor countries? Really? And Delta already has a relationship with Airbus via existing A320/19s and A330s from NWA. Boeing is currently happy with DL's order for 100 737-900ERs. You make no sense.

So Fv, your last few posts seem to be more emotional, like you are on the verge of crying. Keep your chin up, throw down that hanky, and get a hold of yourself, like you do every night you do turns to Chennai.

Gents,

It's pretty easy how to handle him. Just do what he does. I started playing his game and all of a sudden I'm getting pvt messages from (I don't know who these guys Are) suggesting "putting him on ignore list"..-and "why don't you move on" etc

Very enlightening

I actually think he's getting paid by FI to stir it up...so just do his thing...don't answer pertinent points ...just throw it back ....and then we will see if FI still want to pay him..because every post will become. Your momma, Lubbock overnights, sandpit rape, RJ slumming... You know his cut and paste routine

Because all this site will become - is multiple GL back and forths... Which is worthless and suicidal for the moderators...they tolerate it...so they're going to get it...all the good guys have left, FD, MAGNUM, SWA BUBBA, ETC...advertisers will figure this out if the moderators don't

So back to business

.Poor little FO GL...

What say you... Stuffing for the DC9 upgrade ...gonna miss the Sundaes on the mini heavy.

Poor little FO GL

C'mon Poor little FO GL

Lets take down FI together with nonsensical insults

Poor little FO GL

Can't believe you actually addressed wealth with your post...getting to you?

Poor little FO GL

let's just go back and forth on fI and see who comes back

I'm doing what your doing...it's great ...

too bad a serious discussion can't be had in this thread....

Great news about the new airframes. Everyone seems to forget that DAL is adding 100 737-900s (some will replace 757s) - so, great growth with the 717s, 739s and now A321s and A330s.

Hopefully that will translate to more JOBS sooner than later!

too bad a serious discussion can't be had in this thread....

And now you know what the rest of us feel.

I have a couple of pvt messages that have given good insight on the the fact that he is getting paid to insult on FI

A gross insult to those that have contributed over the years

So now ...it is what it is.

Poor little FO GL...every thread a hijack...lets do it

I am getting paid to insult? What? Where is my money? I'd be a multi millionaire right now! Gimme my money! Who has it? I am owed at least $6 million......dam Sam!

Funny stuff! I hear you are being paid to fly to Tehran and Damascus. You can have that! Yikes! And your "Regional" buddies at FlyDubai have to go to Kabul. No thanks! Again fv, put the hanky down and get a hold of yourself.

Well go ahead and post it Jackhole!!

Boeing should have never stopped the 757. All those 321s could have been 757s.

You're right, too bad about the 757s. But, those A321s are very comfortable from a pax standpoint, a lot better than the back of a 757. That 757-300 is also a "pig"---slow to climb, and doesn't climb very high anyway. But, it's a big money maker. Not all of the DL 757s are leaving. The ones with winglets are slated to stay longer, primarily because they invested money in the winglets... Rumor has it that some of the ones supposed to leave sooner may get overhauled anyway.

The 321 is WAY more efficient than the 757. The only thing it lacks is the 57's legs and if all destinations were Hawaii or across the Atlantic that would be a problem, but it's not. The airlines have said that except for a few cases they don't need the range, hence the lack of orders leading to a shutdown of the 75 line and more 321 orders.

It should be! The 757 hasn't been produced in almost a decade. When the 757 came out in 84 it was very efficient. I bet you money that if you put a old 757-200 fully loaded out of LAX climbing to 370 The 757 would still rule the roast. I miss the RR powered 75's on climbout. When the mike would go hot you could hear that growl in the background.

Congrats to Delta! The paxs love the bus.

As for calling The General a poor little FO, well...... that's a joke. He makes more than our friggin' captains. Probably flies way better lines too.

Whoa!

My "poor little FO GL" act got to you guys huh?" more pvt emotional messages than ever in my inbox

Throwing darts on a subject I have surface knowledge on , insulting all and sundry...welcome to to GLs life....a foreign airline ordering 200 777s is a bad for American jobs....yet 40 Airbus's (10 of which will be built in Europe) are great

This is what he does...mocks intelligent debate

Lets all do it...

Poor little FO GL...how's the crew bunk in the old mini heavy

Just keep doing what the skipper says kid

Poor little FO GL...let the mockery continue

And keep responding to my mockery because ...then it hijacks the thread completely ...
