Does that mean they don't have a terrible product in JFK. So now people will have to go into 2 or 3, then take a bus that runs on bad schedules, meaning you have to have min 3 hours between connections. And all these people that don't speak English, have to find a bus that moves from 11 and terminal 2 and is not marked at all, great service DL. I saw the buckets were out yesterday catching water from the dripping ceiling

And nets that hold the birds in

The thing about all the stupid posts about our (I admit) lakluster terminal at JFK, is people DON'T care about anything but price anymore. If you think for one second that people will pick AA or Jet Blue because the terminal is better (which they are) you better not try management stick to being a pilot.

Now RJ vs mainline that is a different story, which we are trying to take back. People will pay more for mainline (but not much more), what everyone fails to understand is that pricing power of the airlines is gone, the interent makes it to easy to find the cheapest ticket and people will always save $10 vs worring about a leaky roof or an RJ.

HAHA like they have the room to do this. First they make pax walk out to the plane in that horrible horseshoe, or they take them to pad 11 and make them walk up stairs (757's) or they wait 2 hrs for a gate. DL should not be adding to its horrible product in NYC. And to top all that they have all these paying passengers stuffed in the worse terminal in the USA.

This is correct to a large degree, yet Delta is sitting on a gold mine in DTW. One of the best terminals in the country with room for more expansion. If I were delta i would pull more international flights out of JFK to DTW and then you might have room for more domestic stuff out of jfk. I know that more people internationally want to go to jfk than dtw but i really hope delta takes full advantage of dtw going forward. If and when the economy recovers DTW could be as busy as ORD or ATL in 5 years if done right.

Well as of today if you fly domestically on DL you most likely fly on an RJ, not only an RJ but you will have to walk across a ramp and sit in a overcrowded gate area. So not only do they have bad terminals, but lousy RJ's, and the worst customer service. Yes, people do choose JB for their product that includes the terminal (they know where they have to go to catch plane, don't have to go to t2 to check in then catch a flt in t4). DL's NY product is the worst of all the airlines

This must be tanker******************************s evil twin.

Actually I agree with him. Our JFK operation is an embarrassment... and the LGA isn't the greatest either. However, the good news is the company is aware of the problem and working on long term solutions to fix it.

I agree with you that DTW is nice, very nice. The problem lies in the fact that the city of Detroit offers much less(and getting worse) O&D than ORD/NYC/LAX and even MSP. When you pull traffic out of NYC(JFK) and run it through DTW you increase the CASM as most of the passengers will be just connecting through the hub vs. JFK. The key is to have your hub in a strong O&D market, hence Delta's building up of NYC(LGA&JFK).

Why? what did I say that is not true? If I would have mentioned that they bus people to pad 11 to board 900's and MD 80's made it better. People that don't have answers or feel defeated always resort to name calling.
