Investors didn't quite agree with Grinstein's mkt value estimate of between $9.3B - $12B. Look for quite a bit of volatility in the next month as creditors dump shares and new investors jump on board. I will give them credit for being number 2. ;)

I see the "fresh start" accounting has also lowered projections for profit from over $800M to around $670M for 2007. They say that's because of the different standards in place for the new company. :) My estimate is around $400M.

In either case, DL should do just fine for a few years...as will most legacy's. The key to their success will be the ability to match present and future LCC employee costs along with continued profitability on the international scene.

Good luck to all present and future DL employees. It's a nice start.

Actually, I have been moving into new digs. Sold the house in Boca and I'm now a renter. Plan to sell the insurance business in a couple of years and head out to NM....somewhere around Sante Fe. Wanted to try and get a decent price in this downward housing market. Not what I wanted, but things have changed since last year.;)

since Delta forecast a market value of 9-12B all the airlines have come back in value. Based on what happened today, I would say their valuation at the time was spot on.
